FROM RUSH - DID TERRENCE PLOT HAITIAN OCTOBER SURPRISE?
Rush Limbaugh website ^ | 10/31.02 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 10/31/2002 6:03:25 AM PST by Elkiejg

At the close of Hour Two, I broke the Haitian boatpeople story this way: "Two hundred and fourteen new Democrats arrived in Florida just in time to vote next Tuesday." They claim that this was a "freighter," but if that was a freighter, I'm a tadpole. The news likewise reported that these people couldn't swim ashore, when it looked like there was about 12 feet of water out there.

The angle here is that Haitians are sent back to their homeland, unlike Cuban refugees. Now, I thought Haiti was fixed. This is one of the policies George H. W. Bush had and Bill Clinton campaigned against in 1992, but that Clinton intensified as president. They sent Jimmy Carter down there to spread a little malaise on the situation, remember? In light of all that, this seems awfully contrived, does it not?

I can't help but think of DNC head Terry McAuliffe saying that he would do whatever it took to defeat Jeb Bush in next week's election - not because he's a bad governor, but just to embarrass the Bush family. I can't help but wonder if this isn't an October Surprise designed to put the screws to Jeb and energize the African-American voters. I would keep a close eye out for facts on this.

It's important to point out that I think people who go in for conspiracy theories are fools, but this is suspicious. The early reports said they spent 18 days at sea and the people were disheveled. But then the New York Times said the trip took eight days, and you can see that the people do not look like they've been at sea for this length of time. I have no proof of this. This is just my intelligence guided by experience – especially in light of last night's Wellstone exploitation rally.

I thought I saw some professionally printed signs in the crowd, but maybe it was just my imagination running away with me.

Says the mighty Rush, it's not a conspiracy until I say it is and then you're not a fool anymore.

They didn't spot the boat until it was 2 miles off the US coast and even then they didn't intercept.

So, what we are supposed to belive here is that the USCG knew about this boat full of illegals. They then did nothing. They didn't notify local and Federal law enforcement. The boat threaded it's way through all the local harbor traffic, sand bars and shoals. The boat found it's way to a place where the water was less than four feet deep. All those people jumped off the boat and waded about 20 feet to dry land.

All this happens without any LE meeting the boat, and it wasn't a set up? Gimme a break!

Looky what I found:

BILL McBRIDE

October 30, 2002

President George W. Bush
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave. NW
Washington, DC 20500

Dear President Bush,

As you know, more than 200 Haitian refugees landed on the shores of Key Biscayne yesterday and are now being detained at the Krome Detention Center in Miami-Dade County.

I respectfully urge you to issue an Executive Order directing the Immigration and Naturalization Service to release the Haitian refugees admitted to Krome over the past twenty-four hours. These refugees should be granted the same rights as others, and be allowed to seek immediate asylum hearings rather than be subjected to indefinite detention.

I also ask that you take immediate steps to ensure that Federal law and guidelines reflect the fair and equitable treatment of all people seeking asylum in the United States. For too long, United States immigration policy has contained disparities in the treatment of those seeking asylum, and I respectfully request that you take initial steps to resolve these inequities.

Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Bill McBride

"You'll never convince me that Clintons are behind this "landing"."

Uh.....OK. You must have been asleep between 1993 and 2001.

Carrie Meeks (Marxist-Fla) showed up at a Jeb Bush rally/speech to ask him why the state of Florida under him still had a racist policy of treating Hatians different from non-blacks?

I did see her. And she was obnoxious too. She kept interrupting his press conference to ask him rhetorical questions that were really negative comments for the press. She got right up beside him. I thought she was going to push him aside and take center stage. It was to her advantage that Jeb is a gentleman!

I'm telling you that the boat should have been intercepted on the high seas. period. You have a boat jammed with 200+ people and nobody saw it between haiti and miami? bravo sierra. after the USCG had a run in with the cubans last year, there is a certain radius within which water-based LE will not act, except to save life, because they are scared as hell overhead shots from local news helicopters will end up plastered all over the news.

There is quite a large Haitian population in the nearby Bahamas. I read this morning a speculation that these 200+ "refugees" were recruited from the Bahamas to make the short trip to Miami. Thus explaining the fresh clothing they wore. They didn't look like refugees who spent the better part of the week at sea. Second point: with the recent arrest of the Haitian illegal, John Malvo, shouldn't we be demanding these people be sent back where they came from? Where is the outrage?

BILL CLINTON issued the order to grant Cuban immigrants special treatment upon immigration.......we should ALL check that out.....so McBride needs to contact Bubba Clinton Soprano and ask him "wassssup wi' dis???"

Also, didn't Fidel Castro threaten Clinton with a "Mariel Boatlift" and dump some of the garbage from his Cuban prisons to come ashore in Miami if Elian wasn't sent back?? Sounds like the Rats are taking some of Fidel's moves and using them on Jeb!!!!!!!

For being on a boat for 8 days with no food, the guy who did the back flip off the boat into the water seemed pretty healthy to me.

Rush is darn right! No doubt in my mind the democrat party machine bosses have hired Hollywood script writers to come up with any and every conceivable way to plot and scheme their way into power and dominion over us, We the People.

From the Gala Wellstone Memorial aka, Democrat Get Out the Vote Fun Fest to the fertile and vivid imagery the camera picks up and relays to the eyes of the beholder such as we saw when relatively healthy looking illegal aliens jump ship so close to our shores, with handy pick-up trucks lined up to carry their alien human cargo off, with leftists lawyers waiting to protect and protest their treatment at the hands of the evil republican govenor just timed perfectly for his arrival for a campaign stop at the same place.

Coincidence? NO! Masterminded? YES!

This paragraph is from today's Opinion Journal:Indeed, the first landing has raised many questions, among them the origin of the refugees. Several Haitian political experts doubt that the well-dressed boat people--mostly young men--traveled all the way from Haiti. They note that thousands of Haitians live in the Bahamas and could have been recruited to make the trip this time. That draws attention to President Bush's administration policy against Haitians in contrast to its embrace of Cuban refugees.

Meeks, of all people, should know this is a FEDERAL issue.

I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and agree that she does know this, but it makes no difference if she does or not. She was there to implant the idea in the minds of the ignorant that Jeb is a racist, and it is personally his fault those people had to leave Haiti and "suffer in de surf". She was on a propoganda mission, pure and simple.

Interesting that all those folks in the rally just happened to have signs and were in place as soon as the first illegal alien hit the beach.

FL Congreeman Porter Goss (R) is pushing for an official inquery in this matter. Among the questions he wants answered are the following:

(1) Why were TV cameras already onshore waiting for this boat?

(2) Why were the people dressed up in their Sunday best? (For the tv cameras?) As this is usually not how boat people dress for a bharrowing journey.

I can only tell you this: (1) there have been MANY boat landings in recent times in FL, and NONE garner much publicitiy because it is a fairly common occurence; and (2) I happened to be watching CNN at the time and I was shocked at the amount of airtime they gave this story, and then shocked again at how quickly other networks picked up on this story giving it legs, and then, how fast Gov Bush is in the midst of it with McMumble suddenly writing a letter to GW demanding x,y and z. I repeat: Boat people from Haiti to FL is NOT uncommon, yet, why this particular boat load of people received such an enormous amount of airtime is itself VERY odd, IMO.
