So far all the other candidates are talking. Lautenburg talking now. (Funniest line so far ---- Frank Perdue look-alike from the RTL party thanks Frank for showing up). Lautenburg is a droolin dottering old fool.

The green guy is already lying. Says Dick Armey opposes the "War on Iraq". Yes, in August he had reservations, but is now fully supportive of President Bush.

I just flipped over to C-SPAN for a few seconds and heard the socialist candidate for Senate say he wants to cut the defense budget by 50% and establish a minimum living wage and a maximum wage of 10x the minimum.

I don't want to step on any NJ Freeper toes, but your debate looks like a freak show.

I think Forrester is doing very well-he seems poised, knowledgeable, quick on his feet, gentlemanly.Talked about cutting taxes a lot. The rest of the field looks like they belong in the waiting room of a plastic surgeon( except the woman). Lautenberg starts every sentence with "Yes and then ah,ah,ah". After that he doesn't answer the question-he launches into an attack on Forrester-every single time.Forrester has to take the beginning of his time, correcting Lautenberg's lies.He has obviously been programmed and is just reciting the script McAuliffe and clinton wrote for him. Lautenberg looks and acts his age,a cranky and mean old man. Forrester kind of reminds me of the new Rush. Now Lautenberg and Forrester may go it alone.

The camera briefly panned to Lautenberg, now that it is just the two of them and he was rifling through papers-like he was looking for something-he looks lost. But of course the camera quickly panned away. Looks like the wheels are coming off the Laut-he is using words that don't make any sense-half finished sentences and thoughts, lots more ahs, ahs, continues to throw out nasty barbs at Forrester, speaking in non sequiters.Forrester gets in a few good shots-after the Laut gives his rambling answer-Forrester says, " As I understood the question" -slyly implying that the Laut didn't understand the question. In response to why he voted against the Gulf War-he rants about not being able to get out, after we got in and anyway, we didn't get Saddam-?Huh?

Thanks for the thread. Makes me remember why I detested Lautenberg before--maybe more so now. Forrester is doing an excellent job--talking about guns now--showing up Lautenberg for a gun grabber.

Lautenberg lied about his age issue attacks on Millicent Fenwick 20 years ago. Doug didn't let him skate on it.

Forrester is trying hard to say what he is FOR--that's been a question nagging his campaign--so this is a good showcase for that.

Lautenberg and retirement--perfect together.

Forrester reminded L about his votes to eliminate death penalty for terrorists, cutting military spending, etc, then asked, "Which one of these votes would you now change" L: "none of them". I thought Forrester's eyebrows would hit the ceiling when he heard that.

Lautenberg just lied about the whole 1983 Social Security issue. What a maroon!

Well, they're wrapping up now. Lautenberg now attacking Forrester for not serving in the US Armed Forces, while he fought in WW2. Made it sound like Forrester dodged the draft. Can't wait for the reply.

Doug needs to go for the jugular in the wrap up on Frankie's lies tonight.

Lautenberg is really bad. He's bumbling, stuttering, incoherent.
He was suggesting we suspect things about Forrester and his positions that he couldn't even articulate. It was really wierd.
Lautenberg is worse than I even imagined.

Forrester wins this debate hands down.

Forrester SMOKED Lautenberg.

Absolutely no contest.

Lautenberg looked like they pulled him out of the back of a dusty old closet. He fumbled and stumbled and looked completely lost.

Forrester in his appearance, and speaking style, reminded me a lot of Rush Limbaugh. He had command of all the issues and his delivery was direct and confident.

Forrester clearly won the debate because he was aggressive and his answers and points clear; Lautenberg was all over the place and demonstrated as he has in the recent pass that his thoughts and his speech do not correlate.

Unfortunately, I caught only the last 20 minutes, but I was floored when the Louse wondered aloud what Forrester must have promised the FOP to get their endorsement. You gotta hope they come out strongly to repudiate his insinuation that their endorsement was bought with some sort of dirty backroom deal.
