[history]
DENVER - Four years ago, Joe Rogers was a rising Republican star.
At 33, Mr. Rogers had just been elected Colorado's lieutenant governor, making him the youngest in the nation and the only black Republican to hold a state's No. 2 post. Republican politicos were soon predicting that Mr. Rogers, a bright, engaging lawyer, could make history as the nation's first black Republican governor.

"It's not part of the Republican game plan to play the race card. They're results-oriented, not rhetoric-oriented," Mr. Innis said.
"They think that their message and concrete actions should speak louder than words," he said. "But the Republicans have to understand that, believe it or not, deeds do not speak for themselves. You need an appropriate spokesman for the message, because if it's Democratic demagoguery versus Republican deeds, demagoguery will win every time."

Thank you, ma'am. But I must express my dissent. Innis states, "After 2002 is over and [presidential adviser] Karl Rove gets a chance to exhale, Republicans are going to seriously look to get vehicles for their message/ And the best vehicles are candidates." Yes AND no.
Of course you want a vivrant, articulate, tough-minded candidate who appears to be genuinely concerned about constituents. But we fall into the mental trap set by the Left when we automatically assume that a candidate must be black for black voters to accept him or her. This is nothing more than another form of identity politics. We lose that game.
I swear, I could write a book on this subject.

Mr. Bositis said. "For Republicans to get additional black support, there would have to be a Republican who moved the party to the center. And George Bush is at the far right of the party."

Who does he consider to be the center, Karl Marx?

You are speaking and thinking exactly like a Republican. lol.

Why would any Black Conservative in their right mind consider starting a carreer in politics when washed-up singer/actors, poverty pimps and hack race baiters can get all the coverage they want by calling a Conservative Black a "House N......"?

IT'S 7 DAYS UNTIL THE ELECTION. WILL IT STILL BE HER SENATE?
GOOD INTENTIONS DON'T WIN ELECTIONS.
ACTION DOES. ACT TODAY.

"Black voters have been monolithic because of the Democratic Party's race-baiting machine," he said. "They scare black voters into thinking the Republican Party is the racist party. They've got a well-oiled machine, and you've got to counteract that."
The Republicans need to run ads in heavily Democratic areas that contain black voters, sending a simple message about the Republican Party, its' founding and historical anti-slavery role along with Lincoln as the Republican Emancipator and then show the contrast with the Dems and the likes of KKK Senator Byrd.

You've already overcomplicated the issue. KISS. Want to try again?
To: Ms. AntiFeminazi
Well, I like the KISS, but frankly, the situation calls for much more.
To: Ms. AntiFeminazi
btw, what isn't simple about my approach??? Sheesh.
To: Ms. AntiFeminazi
Mr. Ehrlich told voters at a Jewish school last week that Townsend supporters threw Oreos at Mr. Steele during a debate MMMM...Oreos.

sending a simple message about the Republican Party, what is the simple message?
its' founding and historical anti-slavery role along with Lincoln as the Republican Emancipator
tell me this in 100 words or less
and then show the contrast with the Dems and the likes of KKK Senator Byrd.
Is this a 30-second soundbite ad or a mini-series on slaves and the KKK?
I guess what I'm really asking for is an example. How would you do this? You are the master of putting complex ideas into a simple picture. Show me something.
To: mhking
Ping!
To: Ms. AntiFeminazi; Registered
oops,
You are the master of putting complex ideas into a simple single picture. Show me something.
To: Ms. AntiFeminazi
I only do paying jobs now. Send me something.
To: Ms. AntiFeminazi
btw, you could do the ad in 30 seconds, just an informational ad and play it over and over again. The Dems would hate it, seeing their voters actually getting an education before voting.
