HIGH POINT -- The FBI has joined efforts to find a 13-year-old boy who disappeared from his north High Point home last week.
Christopher Edward Dixon, 13, is 5 feet tall and weighs 90 pounds. He has light brown hair and bluish-green eyes. He wears glasses. On Thursday afternoon, he was wearing a light blue, short sleeved shirt and dark blue pants. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call High Point Police at 883-3224 or CrimeStoppers at 889-4000. Information can also be given to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at (800) 843-5678.
The FBI was called in to help police investigate leads and tips outside North Carolina in the search for Christopher Dixon, whose family moved just weeks ago to High Point from Pelzer, S.C.
"We are using the FBI for their out-of-state resources," said Lt. Jim Tate, a police spokesman. "We are trying to learn as much as possible about these people to see if we can see where (Christopher) might be."
The boy disappeared from outside his home on Gordon Road shortly after returning from school Thursday afternoon.
After searching the woods and areas surrounding the home through the weekend, police have called off those efforts. They are now focusing on looking into leads and are meeting with FBI officials to determine other courses of action.
Dogs from the Stokes County Mountain Rescue Team continued to search a wooded section of Quail Run Drive on Gordon Road where they had picked up a scent over the weekend but found nothing Monday.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Alexandria, Va., is also providing its resources and expertise in missing children cases. < href="http://www.newsandrecord.com/news/local/hp/missing29rk.htm">More...

Chris,
I got your chapter inquiry e-mail last night.
I will send you some information at lunchtime.
Just a word of advice, you may want to avoid posting your e-mail address here in the open forum.
That's a good way to get a LOT of junk e-mails.
Regards,

How sad. This year has been dubbed "The Year of the Missing Children" because of the media attention given to them. In some cases it has helped. Let's hope this case too will get the publicity.

This reminds me a lot of the young boy who went missing in NJ some 10 years ago. His name was Mark, with red hair, forget his last name. Never solved and no clues. He disappeared while walking along a beach after school one afternoon, I believe. One shoe found. Prayers for this young man. How awful! Glad to hear the FBI is finally involved.

Could he be a runaway? 13 is a rough age to move a kid, especially in Middle School. Hope that's the case, and he's found safe and unharmed.

kayak, sure on the graphic thing.
Any Freepers have Alltel or ATT wireless connections?? We need to get help for the Dixon's and cousin Laura Gentry's bills...

Not a runaway!!!! I know Chris personally and he left his backpack and lunchbox sitting in the driveway. his mother asked him to bring the empty trash cans in and disappeared. You cannot find anyone who believes that Chris would leave his mom.
