Question of Day: Why No TV Footage of Caprice by the Telephone Booth?
Self | 2002-10-28 | Tuco-bad

After the sniper arrests were made, the media reported that the snipers' Chevy Caprice could be seen in TV footage near the telephone booth where the police arrested the two immigrants in a white van.

Question of Day: Why isn't the media showing the tv footage of the Caprice by the telephone Booth?

Did anyone see the two sniper portholes in the rear of the trunk before the car went into police detention?

It probably shows Hillary in the back seat aiming a rifle.

"It probably shows Hillary in the back seat aiming a rifle."

LOL! Actually, they are probably withholding the video evidence, to prevent a "jury nullification". If enough people see the evidence, the defense could claim that it's impossible to find an impartial jury.

Lots and lots of threads about the sniper. Why is a separate one about one tiny detail necessary?

The Vanity problem is growing out of control.

Actually, I've been wondering the same. I'd like to see some footage of the Caprice, since there's been claims made it was caught in the media coverage.

Tuco, that's not the question of the day.

The question of the day is why your Democrats, led by Carl McCall, are sucking so badly in New York?

This, despite te fact that Clinton is now the leader of the New York Democrat Party. Could that be the reason? New Yorkers have already had a belly full of Bubba?

Here is a gem from CNN that I wanted to start a thread with, but it prolly belongs here:

•Washington, D.C., police issued a lookout for a Chevrolet Caprice spotted driving away from the scene of a fatal sniper shooting on October 3 in northwest Washington, D.C., according to a copy of the document obtained by CNN. But the Metropolitan (D.C.) Police Department said it chose not to release the information to the press because the press releases were being coordinated through the joint task force headed by the Montgomery County Police Department in Rockville.

Total agreement here. Who is this Wizard and why does his crap stick?

The reason the video/still isn't being shown is probably because it's evidence.

Loose lips sink ships.

First of all sinkspur, they "ain't" my Democrats.

The reason Pataki is doing so well in the polls is that he bought off the various state and municipal unions (i.e., teachers, hospital workers, etc.).

After the election, Pataki will start raising taxes in New York State (Democrat would do even worse).

In New York, no matter who is governor, the people lose.

The media owns the footage, not the police.

Good question. The media should be digging up the videos and running them.

I suspect the reason the media is not showing it is because they're falling all over themselves to congratulate Moose & Co - even when the evidence suggests PC profiling caused unnecessary deaths.

There were smatterings of mention of that Caprice by the media, during the "investigation", but the "Moose" seemed to want to keep the focus on white vans. Didn't seem to matter what size or shape: big box vans, little Astros, full size Ford Econolines, even window vans like the one the aliens had, as long as it was white.

I agree.

BTW - Do you know I believe I remember at the time, one of the news channels showing an older car, which could be the Caprice, near the telephone booth?

Really? I was wracking my brain trying to remember, and I looked around for pics, but found very few. None showing the entire area.

I only wish I had been taping the news at the time.

Maybe Drudge will come through for us?
