Noticed the same thing. I also operate an internet business and the order flow is way off. It's as if everyone went somewhere. Wonder if there's another denial of service attack, although I'm not having trouble getting out (except to FR on and off).

It got real slow after Paul Wellstone's death was announced, then disappeared entirely. Now it up again, but gets really slow!

This is what I got... Note: I don't think emailing Free Republic at this time would be a good idea... I can only imagine how many they would get and could worsen the problem more.

FWIW, I've had troubles off and on today since I heard about the Wellstone airplane crash (11:00-ish Pacific time) and a Major Stall (pun completely unintended) on refreshing threads between 17:15 and about now. I would just guess excessive traffic.
