I didn't see the debate, and the only person I talked to about it said Thune came out pretty good. The last poll I saw had Thune 49% Johnson 43%. Now that Johnson is in this voter fraud mess he is whining about not having any more negative ads.

Here is a link to an article on the debate:

click on the "Senate Debate" link at the top of that page and you can watch the whole debate online.

Photography truly depends on the person behind the camera. It all comes down to a good eye.

Yes, to a great extent, you're right. But, the majority of those photos of the president could not have been taken with a point and shoot camera. And some of the photos you put here are done with a fish eye lens. Most of the photos are done in natural light, so the photographers are using fast lenses and they are usually long lenses, too. Long, fast lenses are expensive. I'd love to own one. I do realize that even with the best equipment, if you don't know how to meter a scene or frame a photo, you won't get a good photo.

In any case, here is a photo I took of my dog. I was experimenting with 800 speed film when I took this. Most of my other photos are of children and I don't think I should put them on the Internet, although I'd love to. I just took a gorgeous photo of my friend's son and I'm showing everyone I know, lol.

Here's Hunter!

I should mention that that photo of my dog was taken on a rainy day. He is inside the house, behind the storm door and that's rain on the glass. The bushes from outside are reflected in the glass.

Thanks for posting. W's appearance was only the second by a sitting President to my alma mater. The last to visit was FDR in 1939.

War Eagle Mr. President.

I'm really an amateur when it comes to posting graphics, but thanks for your vote of confidence! I usually look at the card sites, like Blue Mountain or Castlemountains or Hallmark. I love to save URLs from goofy things I've seen, like this one:

aren't you going to get to see and hear those helo's going by?

I missed them last night. In fact, I didn't even hear them. The Chinese delegation was supposed to travel to the ranch by motorcade today so no chance to see any helicopters with them. We can hear the fighter planes overhead though.

A late "Thank you" to each of you for the Birthday Greetings to me! I have been away "at the beach" for a nice vacation (which was itself a birthday "gift") and am just now able to respond to your special messages, "songs", graphics, and expressions on the dose from my birthday (which thanks to Mtngrl@vrwc everyone could know about!)

Thank you, rintense, for the dose- as always. This one was special since President Bush was in NC (on my birthday, no less!) Since he was in Charlotte and I was at one of NC's beautiful beaches (Emerald Isle), I did not get to see him in person - or even much on the TV replays of his visit. But just his being here to help Elizabeth Dole and other Republicans push on to victory was a very welcome "gift" also!

Sorry to have not been posting much for awhile and appreciate the gracious understanding that has been expressed and the prayers.

One day - will be back in full "FWI" mode = but not yet. Keep the faith - and the Psalm for today from mtngrl@vrwc IS a treasured one:

All of it is good - but especially to me are these:

1 It is good to give thanks to the LORD,
And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
2To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning,
And Your faithfulness every night
3On an instrument of ten strings,
On the lute,
And on the harp,
With harmonious sound.
4For You, LORD, have made me glad through Your work;
I will triumph in the works of Your hands.

God is AT WORK - and He makes us GLAD through HIS WORK that we can see so clearly if we will just open our eyes (of faith).

The catching of those snipers is surely one of God's works! The info that the trucker who saw them at the rest stop is a Christian who had prayed for the snipings to end and the snipers to be caught - and then ended up being part of "God's work" in answering that very prayer was info I did not know until coming here! (Wonder why. NONE of the secular news sources that I watched this week revealed that bit of God-praising news!!!!! Is the devil the "Prince of the power of the air" or what!!!!)

But, thanks be to God, we do have "sources" of information - TRUTH - today that is not totally under the control of "the evil one" who does NOT want people to know that God hears and answers our prayers or that He guides people to be in the right places at the right time in order to accomplish His will in answer to prayers!!!!!

How good it is to know that God's Word is True - and cannot fail: like this:

"9For behold, Your enemies, O LORD,
For behold, Your enemies shall perish;
All the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

It seems sometimes that evil and those working in conjunction with evil are winning. But God cannot lie. Those who "work iniquity" will be scattered and will perish.

God is in charge of the when and the how this is done. But we can be certain - IT WILL BE DONE!

Well enough. Thanks again everybody - and to any whose birthdays I have missed by not being here daily - my apologies - and Happy Birthday to all of you on YOUR big days!

What beautiful comments. You are like a B12 shot for our faith--and love for God. Sounds like you had a terrific birthday. Best wishes again.

Hi, there, olliemb! Yes, I did have a very nice birthday. Nothing like seeing the ocean and hearing its sounds and smelling the salt air to experience a fresh "awakening" to the awesome majesty of our Creator God!

I read in Job that God says to the waves of the sea - this far and no further. Every day last week I walked beside those waves and thought about God's mighty power in creating the heavens and the earth and all that is in them. Is anything too hard for our Creator God?

His arm is not shortened that it cannot save. He will save to the uttermost all who come to Him. His creation is a means to strengthen our faith - and it did mine - this past week.

So, while sin exists and evil seems to abound and tragedies occur - and there is clear explanation for all that in God's Word - we know that God is at work like that Psalm says - and that His Works testify to His presence and His Power with us and for us through whatever it is we are experiencing now or will experience in the future.

Well - that's what I re-learned during my vacation. As we trust the outcome of the elections in the next few weeks to God, asking specifically for candidates who will be for HIM and not against Him to be elected - and as we (YOU ESPECIALLY, OLLIEMB, HAVE BEEN DOING THIS) work for this goal with prayer - we KNOW that we HAVE that which we ask - in His Name - by His Spirit - on His Promised Word. And we give Him all the praise, honor, and glory!

So nice to hear from you and again such beautiful thoughts about God and goodness and evil and God's promises. I have missed your inpiration--welcome back. Yes, you are right--we must pray as if the whole world was on our shoulders and only our prayers will help out. Pray and do good deeds for God's glory.

Just got back from a GOP picnic and again the candidates there want and need the get out the vote help. If anyone can help out during these 9 days with phoning mailing walkin blocks, etc please volunteer. It is very important that we get out the votes for our candidates. I am from Texas and Daschle today on Face the Nation commented that the demos had Texas under their belt. What an arrogant comment (I hope he is wrong).
Again, Freedom, welcome back. But let us not forget to pray for our enemies as well.

You are right - totally arrogant (Daschle's claim).

God is not mocked. We reap what we sow. If we sow to unrighteousness, we reap death. It is just that simple. We must pray for our enemies - yes - for sure. Absolutely true. They are not the true enemy. It is powers and principalities who are using them and working through them to destroy America - and Americans.

Yes, volunteers are desperately needed at every GOP HQ across the nation and for every good candidate. Let's get out there, praying and walking, giving and talking, and never ever stop Praying and Praising God for all His goodness and for His power. HE IS THE CREATOR GOD and is our PROVIDER in all things and in all times!
