I have been on the phone with my sister (not the one that went to Target). I wish I could say more of what she said, oh geez, she won't let me say anything and if arrests are made and she is right I will not have been able to tell you guys before hand what she is telling me. I could SCREAM, I can't share this. But if it pans out, I can tell you later, I promise I will. I asked her if I could share it and she told me she wouldn't tell me another word and then realized she was on her cell phone telling me this stuff and said she better get off.
Is THIS on-going situation what you were making reference to last night?

The object removed was a tree stump. They're searching for shell casings. SPECULATION (by me): they're searching for a possible link to the murder weapon used by the DC area sniper.

This Just in...
For those who scratching heads over the 'lone nut' theory, it seems the FBI has gained search warrants for several persons and residents - nationwide.
- all related to the sniper case in the Washington D.C. area.
Stay tuned...

From http://www.tribnet.com/news/story/1683340p-1800235c.html regarding the terrorist cell in Washington state.
WASHINGTON - Grand juries in Seattle and Detroit Wednesday charged six alleged Islamic militants with supporting global terrorist activities, including a U.S. citizen accused of providing safe houses and training to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida network.
Three of the men were detained soon after Sept. 11 while the man identified as Abdella remains a fugitive.
This is, to say the least, an interesting turn of events.

Be careful not to jump to any conclusions if the name Abdullah crops up now and then.

Well do we have so al Fuqra thugs being exposed here?
Or are they some white drugged out scumbags with a past history of Ritalin and Paxil and every drug they lay their hands on?
Or some white hate America splinter group?

Consensual search? Does this mean the current residents are not involved, i.e., casings are from a previous resident?

One of the neighbors just told a reporter that at one point the property owner's car was set on fire. He told her not to worry, it was directed at him only.
Sounds like one angry tenant.

I'm not near a TV and can't possibly catch up with all these posts. Can somebody please give a brief summary of what's going on?
Many thanks!

OK
Here's today's guess........
The "sniper" is a team at work,
Part of a larger group,
their goal is to keep every American focused on the shootings....
until after the election.
Paranoid or what?

My theory is that it's a fishing expedition. They don't have a clue who the sniper is so they're taking their best leads and doing what they can to link any of them to the sniper. The giveaway is that they're doing it across the country.

Actually its in Tacoma (on Proctor Street) -- about 2 miles from the house where I grew up (my mom still lives in that house).
Really strange, unnerving kind of.

The damn media has tipped off everyone if the FBI are going after a group. Hope the warrants were served before the news broke!

Will this thread break the record?
What is the longest thread (largest number of replies) on Free Republic?

Just got here, there are approx 800 comments and without reading every one I want to check this out: has the topic of the fact that Chief Moose's previous position was in Washington come up as a factor here yet? Perhaps someone has a vendetta against the Moose??? (apologize if this is an old speculation that has already been hashed over)

Did anyone catch Chris Whitcomb on MSNBC having to back off his statement that search warrant had been issued in Alabama? Apparently, MSNBC had not reported that yet because Lester asked him how he knew that. He must be watching Fox News during off-camera breaks.
