They said no bodies but what the heck are they laying out those lines for?? Maybe they are looking for buried weapons. And, maybe we were right about the international terror angle.

I've never seen anyone look for bodies with metal detectors before. Maybe a weapons cache?

This brings me back to Bo Dietl's theory.
Bo's theory was that this was kids.
Could kids have been behind this, and the parents not knowing allowed the backyard to be searched?
What am I saying, of course kids don't have the resources to move across the country like this!?!??!?!

I'm leaning toward international terror angle for a couple of reasons.

First, the federal government does not negotiate with terrorists. What better reason to keep it under local jurisdiction with the feds "assisting".

Second, this doesn't fit any of the profiles of a serial killer. Serial killers choose their victims and typically want to be close to them when they kill. Stabbing, strangling, etc. They don't choose their location and then pick a random target just to spread fear and panic. I honestly believe the money angle was an after thought. Why wait until you've killed nine people before asking for money?

Third, the reference to this being about more than killing. And the threat that it could get much worse. A guy acting alone can't get much worse than he's already been. Not to discount those that were killed or their families losses. But this hasn't been an OKC or a WTC type of attack so far. The insinuation that it could get "much worse" makes me think that a much larger attack could be in the plans.

And last, the timing. It has happened at the same time a nightclub was bombed in Bali, bombings in the Phillipines, Chechen rebels taking over a theatre in Russia, Marines being shot at in Kuwait, a bomb plot thwarted, (I believe in France?). Too many coincidences here.

Now this could very well be a home grown caucasion male. But we've seen several of those American citizens already indicted on charges of supplying material support to a terrorist organization. Johnny Walker Lindh, the Buffalo Six, the cell in Portland, Oregon, Padilla...

Could be an American citizen who trained in Afghanistan and came back and is trying to get some of his "brothers" released?

That having been said, I have absolutely no idea how this will turn out. Could be a video game being played out in real life. But the lack of the feds taking this over makes me think that they don't want to handcuff themselves to federal regulations and standards...

The first arrest in the case came in May, when Osman, 32--who "helped coordinate" the Bly camp, according to the FBI document--was taken into custody as he turned up for his citizenship interview in Seattle with U.S. immigration authorities.

A search of his TACOMA apartment turned up various weapons, military maps and field manuals, "instructions on poisoning water sources," papers by Abu Hamza, "and various other items associated with Islamic radicalism," according to a law enforcement summary. Osman, a Navy reservist, pleaded guilty to a weapon charge and is said to be cooperating, hoping to avoid deportation.

Search is linked to the DC sniper. Ray Lauer confirmed the FBI is searching in Tacoma but can't say why. Producer has been able to confirm search is related to sniper incident in D.C. 13 people in three week rampage. Ten are dead. Tacoma police have refused to say why.
