Let's keep a live commentary thread going again today. The FBI Tip Line #1-888-324-9800.
All seems quiet since yesterday's news the shooter may target children specifically. It was released on various news outlets the shooter's 3-page letter to police was in broken English and threatened extreme violence. Police announced an electronic transfer of $10m as requested by the shooter was not possible but other options for transfer remain open. No one seriously believes police will actually give the shooter $$, but police are trying to keep a dialogue open with the shooter in an effort to capture this monster.

We could at minimum shut down the Wahala and all other wahalas operating in the USA further we could stop all wire transfers to these accounts or at least delay them until we get whomever is trying to access the money.
I know this is not PC but at least then we would be certain of what we were up against

no... but I think he will be caught before he trys to take down 20 more at the pace he is going at now. He is going to screw up, somebody is going to see him, someone might even be bold enough to go after him and head into the direction of where they hear the shots come from. People are going to start looking around now when it happens again or the drone planes will pick up his gunfire or body heat or the heat off the gun barrel. I think his killing time is very limited and now they have him calling into a 1-800 number and he is leaving more and more notes. I also noticed they were pouring casts on the ground yesterday at the last crime scene, maybe they picked up on some shoe prints or tire tracks. The more he kills the closer he comes to being caught. He not very smart if he trying to communicate with police and was calling into a public tipline and getting angry with the people taking his call... he probably requested the person name when he was not getting his way. I doubt they give out their names when they answer the phones, he probably requested the names since he was not getting his way.

"She has shared some things about her sis before...so it seems natural to further expound a little. If she hadn't been a regular, and if we didn't know anything about her..I can see where you are coming from."No I don't think you do see where I am coming from. This is the second poster that I have seen in the last 24 hours that is running their mouth about having information from an inside source.
Good security procedures dictate that if you have sensitive information, you keep it to yourself. I am more concerned about your friends sister who, if she is in a position to be privy to sensitive information, is disclosing it to third parties who do not have a need to know, particularly family members who are notorious for blabbering. My tax dollars should be going to retain people who are of a higher caliber than that. Being someone who had a top-secret security clearance in the military and routinely handled classified information, I have some knowledge about these matters.
Unfortunately retrieving information from public sources that can be used against organization is really pretty easy to do. Just the hint that something might be in the wind could be cause for taking evasive action.
So if Vallygirl is a friend of yours, be a friend a tell her to put a lid on it. Like it says all over this board, "Loose Lips Sink Ships."

What Fox reported is the shooter said LEO's would need 20 body bags. I/we speculated whether the shooter intended to go on another spree killing where he kills several in one day.

If this turns out that the killings are taking place because of how you get treated when you call a government agency then I think juries will let him off.
To: wewillnotfail
yes... I didn't think of that. I guess we cannot underestimate him, he may have some sort of homemade explosives. But I do not think he is a true blue foreign terrorist.

You are right, we could, in fact I think we should, but would we? We have done one so far, that I know of.

Sounds like, from the information that is coming to light today, that this guy is getting very angry. Angry at the lack of response, the apparent incompetence of the LEAs, and the failure to obtain what could possibly be his objective (receipt of 10 Million dollars). His anger is a good thing IMO. When people get angry, they react and operation on a more emotional level. That will lead to poorer judgment, and mistakes. I hope he gets severely p!ssed off. That will lead to mental lapses and mistakes. I believe that is why he has been "successful" to date in pulling this off, and not getting caught. He was working from a more methodical level, an intellectual level. He was showing patience and planning. But anger will cause him to work from more of an emotional plane, and that will cause errors. Make him mad. The closer he gets to the end of his rope, the more he will become desperate.

I think there is a misconception being propagated here by the press and the partial disclosures to the press.
I believe I heard reliably, that the Richmond Note said 5 must die. The Aspen Hill note, mentioned the 20 body bags.

Hey, at least he got a real live person. Whenever I call a government agency, I usually get the "for directions in English please press *... for directions in Spanish please press #....if you are calling ... please press 1, if you are calling.... please press 2 Maybe that is what made him mad. He couldn't decide what number to press.

I think when we first said Fox mentioned 20 body bags, it wasn't disclosed at that time which note reflected that, so it's entirely possible you're right.

Either that or he will cease all communication until after his next 20 shots. This leads me to believe he's going to go out of the area completely. He (or they) can't possibly hope to get off another 20 shots without getting caught in the VA/DC/MD area. What if there are other shooters in other states ready to act?
To: brigette

We thought this after victims 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12.... you get the idea.
As for the rest, I would agree that he probably started asking for names after being ignored. I suppose whether a person gave their name voluntarily would depend on each person.
I can only say, that the person I spoke with, did NOT give their name. I find it unlikely that they would. I would also guess that IF the shooter asked for their name, this may be when some of them hung up on the shooter!
