Chief Moose has the weight of so many on those broad shoulders; we should all pray for him and all the others working so hard to stop this terrorist cum sniper.

For a refreshing source of optimism, we should all do some research and see what Admiral Yamamoto had to say about the United States when he and his superiors in the Japanese government were discussing the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.

Looks to me like home schooling will become real popular in the beltway.

"You are exactly correct. He stated that he is NOT an American citizen. "Your children..."I don't think that's the case, and while in fact, this murdering bastard may not be a American, I don't see this as proof.
Anyone making this statement would have never said "our" children.
That would be really weird.

FWIW, here's my theory. This is AQ, and their list of demands includes the release of their prisoners either at Gitmo or Zubuydah (spelling?).

Ummm . . . if this guy survives his first night in detention, I want to know why. What? And risk the wrath of the ACLU?
It won't happen for fear of the libs.

More important -- Why did they only close the schools in the Richmond area if these shootings have been taking place all over the D.C. area?
To: MeeknMing
The threat to the public at large is too extreme and the law should take a back seat.Offer a bounty"DEAD OR ALIVE"!If someone in the general public should nail this jerk, immunity from prosecution should be granted.

Did anyone see the retired Colonel on FOX news about 10 minutes before Moose's press conference? He said he's almost certain that this is a recon terrorist operation, and that if deemed successful (by them), we can expect much larger and more widely dispersed attacks in the future.

I note we announced today that we are letting go some detainees from Guantanamo out. Is there a link to the shooter's threats/messages?

All the sniper has to do is stand under a big tree -- anything to block the infrared and other emissions. A flash suppressor would help also. A parking garage roof or something would be even better.
I also suspect that an urban environment generates so many false positives that muzzle flash locating would be less useful. No so in an open desert environment, for example.

For a refreshing source of optimism, we should all do some research and see what Admiral Yamamoto had to say about the United States when he and his superiors in the Japanese government were discussing the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. Japan pissed off the US ---> Hiroshima and Nagasaki
Islamics piss us off (one can hope for) ----> same results on Mecca / Medina

It sounded like a recent communication from the Sniper and they wanted to let parents know. I can't fault him for it.

The Richmond school officials closed the schools and the ones in Fairfax county and Montgomery County didn't.
Of course those who stayed open were looking the $/student/day present they get from the feds and state.

My daughter, brother and sister all live in Anne Arundel county. This is really getting out of hand......

Right.... I was looking for someone to say that.
Even I don't have kids, so I would say - "I hope all your children are safe".
I don't think this is a terrorist in the classic sense though. It may be driven by politics or insanity, but it doesn't take funding or direction from afar to do this.

I concur. I personally felt the threat level has been increased substantially by the sniper.
Does anyone else feel than Chief Moose seemed almost afraid? Like maybe the threat was far greater than one person each time? That was just my gut feeling after this last news conference.
