It's somewhat dangerous to think out loud. The sniper(s) seem to pride themselves on their element of surprise which of course maximizes the effects of terrorism. So, let's just focus on the schedule and take another look at this guy's (or team) sniper schedule as is listed above:
SUNDAYS- No Shootings.
MONDAYS- October 7, 8:09 am; October 14, 9:15 pm
TUESDAYS- October 22, 6 am
WEDNESDAYS- October 2, 5:20 pm, 6:04 pm; October 9, 8:15pm
THURSDAYS- October 3, 7:41 am, 8:12 am, 8:37 am, 9:58 am, 9:15 pm
FRIDAYS- October 4, 2:30 pm; October 11, 9:30 am
SATURDAYS- October 19, 8PM
Note 1: Wasn't there are a male store clerk, standing with his boss outside of the store and was shot in front of his store at closing time in September? I believe he was of Indian descent. I can't remember at this time what day he was shot. Note 2: Obvious factual observations: No shootings on Sundays and no shootings between 9:16 pm and 5:59 am each day of the week.
Fair enough. Heaven knows the place could use the decorum.

By this i mean that they have a finite number of sleepers in the US. This implies they would strive to get the most bang for the buck! A trained operative could set off and cause more damage than that perp has been doing for the last 3 weeks, and do it in less than an hour! Plus send the message middle eastern groups so like to send.
If it were Al qeuda you would probably see something like a strike on the a subway system (probably NYCs) using one person armed with 5 fragmentation grenades during morning rush hour; or maybe (if you want to stay with firearms) a jehadi heading into a kindergarten 10 minutes after break armed with an AR-15!
Simple, efficient, would send a big message to their jehadi brethren in the Middle east (to recruit more crazies) plus would hit the American populace hard! Also it would have a bigger chance for success, after all that would be easier than what this guy has been doing, even though for now he has managed to evade capture (i have been saying that what amazes me about this 'sniper' is not his shooting ability, which at best is average, but how he manages to slip away from the authorities). This guy is the exeption, usually such a criminal would have been caught by now (i would say he has a very good grasp of his surroundings, or maybe he is using an egress method no one has thought about).
And by the way virtually all profilers say this is the work of a homegrown perp, and also if MJY1288's sister works over there, and knows (obviously they have evidence they have not released to everyone) that it is not a foreigner, then why owuld you people try to discredit him? Obviously his sister told him something, and it must be something to the effect it is not foreign if she told MJY1288 that it is not a foreign terrorist.
I would rather accept MJY1288 sister's statement than to swallow some of the 'interesting' theories flying around the web (including FR).
And it also seems people are really trying hard to make this the work of Al Queda! Which is interesting because it says that in a nation of a couple hundred million we cannot find one American who would shoot people in innocent blood. Every serial crime may now start being the 'work of Al Queda,' meaning Al Queda has become the new crime Mr Nobody (after a story book for kids where Mr Nobody is blamed for every thing that goes wrong unexplainably).
Trust me, if Al qeuda were to strike i am pretty sure we would all know of it! Think the first WTC attack, the Khobar towers, the attack on the US Embassies, the attack on the USS Cole, the 9-11 attacks on the WTC and the Pentagon, and now the Bali attack (the terrorist group that did that is part of the Al qeuda hydra). That is the mondus operandi of Al queda ....however sniping at innocents and playing telephone tag with the cops is just not. It would not even be an optimal use of resources on Al Qeuda's part!
Now the case of the missing French sniper is interesting, and plausible, but i still believe it is a 'bubba gone wild' scenario! Also an American muslim taking up a rifle and heading off to spread carnage is also plausible (by far more plausible than Al Queda), but still improbable relative to the 'bubba gone wild' scenario. As for Al Qeuda instead of playing 'public phone' tag with the cops they would be trying to slay a couple of thousand people. And also if MJY1288's sister (a cop working up there) says there is stuff that says it is not a foreign terrorist then i would say it is not (based on Occam's razor saying the simplest explanation is usually the correc one).
After all if you hear hoofsteps behind you chances are that when you turn around you shall see a horse bearing down on you and not a Zebra!
Putting the tag of 'Al Queda' did it is quite simple in any case, however Al Queda is not omnipotent neither is it omnipresent. Chances are it will not be behind every serial killing, child kidnapping, or exploding power transformer out there! And also the stratagems carried out by Al Queda are usually so overt even a simpleton would know it was Al qeuda (for example only crazy Palestinians in the so called Arab Street did not believe 9-11 was the work of UBL and Al Qeuda, everyone else with a working brain knew the moment it happened it was foreign and it was terrorism). God forbid there is another strike by Al queda, but if there is i doubt there will be any debate whatsoever as to 'who dunnit' since it will be clear to all.
My guess is that there are tens of thousands of sleepless parents, right now, trying to decide who might stay home and whether to let their children go to school or not. Businesses and commerce are being effected enormously. I could go on but suffice it to say that this area, this country, is being terrorized.
Or maybe the shooter(s) is/are not leaving the area at all.
Yes we're all speculating because we have next to no information to arrive at any type of a logical conclusion on, and we desperately want to put this into some type of context that makes sense.
but also, if I wanted to really terrorize America like these jihadists want to, no better way then to do so in one area at a time, making myself out to be a "bubba" ....
I believe there is some credible info that the Oklahoma bombings had some ME connection, but our govt. has chosen to keep that and a lot of other stuff to itself...
Reality is.....the govt DOES NOT want this to be ME....no way, no how.....it is much easier for them to have this be a white, southern, racist, homophobic, gun-toting Christian ex-military degenerate....
and methinks that the govt will find a way to get such a "person" no matter what...

Well....the guvm't is forced to rule out "racist" as the Washington Post has already lauded the shooter for his target diversity.
And whoever the perp is, foreign or domestic, i want the cops to apprehend him (them) and give them what's coming.
As for my post i would say it is also speculation, just the same as the other opinions flying around in FR. However what MJY1288 had to say (what his sister told him) seems to have considerable weight (unless of course he is lying, which i do not think he is) since his sister is one of the investigators working on that case. If she says they have stuff that links the thing domestically, and stuff they have not yet released, then that is another lead to a domestic job.
However the only way we will know whether it is bubba gone wild or Al Queda is when the perp(s) is(are) arrested. Until then i guess all we can do is hope and pray the cops get a lucky break.
Until then this person could be an al queda operative, an american muslim, bubba raging against the government, a democrat, a republican, an independent, rightwing militia, a french sniper gone awol (there are some reports saying so), an ex-military/law enforcement person who lost his marbles ,a balkan sniper etc! Those are just some of the stuff i have picked up on FR. I am sure there are more. It could be an individual, a duo, or a team of trained operatives.
In essence we will get the answer once the perp is caught. Until then .....
My real worry would be suicide bombers @ polling places. What irony huh? In Florida the Rats complain because potential voters were prevented from voting due to a "police presence". Now the Rats want an Army presence? That should do wonders for voter turnout. Maybe they will issue bravery medals for voting in the DC area this year?
