Car Bomb Contained Weapons Grade Explosives
(IsraelNN.com) Officials involved in the investigation into today's suicide bombing attack report the bomb used contained weapons grade and improvised explosives, as well as shrapnel. The car bomb was detonated alongside the bus while it was stopped, near the rear of the vehicle. The explosion detonated the bus' gas tank, turning the vehicle into an inferno. The 'fortunate' passengers were thrown from the bus while others were burned alive.
Passengers seated towards the front did manage to escape, as did driver Chaim Avraham, who sustained light physical injuries. He reported being blown from his position together with his seat, adding he managed to help two females off the bus.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing "a lot" of bullets, realizing the bullets of weapons belonging to soldiers trapped inside were detonated by the flames.

How in the world can Israel ever live next to these animals in a Palestinian state?

Keep in mind that the population of the United States is about 50 times that of Israel. Therefore, if an attack equivalent to this had happened in the United States, the deaths would have been 800, and the injured would have been 1,500. In comparative impact on the people of Israel, this is one third of a WTC attack. Israel has taken far more in attacks than the US has, in proportion to population. And its retaliation for that has been far less.
Of course, when we go into Iraq, all contraints will be off. Israel will be under greater attack, but it will also be free to flush the toilet known as the Palestinian Authority, at the same time we are doing the same in Baghdad. And in the end, the entire world will benefit from both efforts, even the Euroweenies.
The object of every war that has ever been fought, is to kill a sufficient number of the enemy, before they kill you, and until the survivors agree that further fighting is useless. It may take a lot of killing to reach that point with Hamas, for instance, but that objective will be reached.

Islamists are using weapons grade explosives enhanced with nails and other metalic items designed to inflict as much carnage on innocent civilians as possible.
Nobody can argue with a straight face that they want WMD's and will use them without hesitation. Our nation and our allies simply cannot afford to lose the war against terrorism, and I cannot for the life of me understand the 'logic' of the anti-war left. Don't they see that their family is in the line of fire?

The Bush Administration has been applying enormous pressure on Israel to relax the closures and withdraw from 2 more cities. When the closures are relaxed, this is what happens. I don't understand why Bush vacillates repeatedly between appeasement and strength, when all the appeasement does is cause the deaths of more Israelis and just makes him look weak. Now the Bush Administration is applying pressure on Israel not to respond to this atrocity, believing that they can appease their "Arab allies."

Everyone knows the enemy. And everyone knows how to deal with that enemy. The question is: when do we find our voices and state the obvious? More: when do we act to excise the cancer?

I was comparing the reaction in the DC area with the shutdown of schools to the way the Israelis are resilient to keep their day to day activities going in the face of ongoing and relentless terror.
Perhaps America will appreciate the everyday, normal courage of countries like Israel that keep functioning despite the constant threats and attacks.
