Like I said, it is my own specualtion. But I know this, the terrorists don't always take credit or make claims. We would be foolish to limit them in our own minds to such constraints. It would play to their advantage to ever do such a foolish thing.

Good point. CBS reported that they happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. So perhaps someone in that area made a bogus call to the tip line, the cops staked out all the pay phones, and these two bozos got caught in the net, one driving a white van. It could also have been a setup by the real sniper, using two dupes, one with a white van.

Either way, not exactly a feather in LE's cap....

I read in a UPI story that the van was parked at a nearby (closed) school and a parent reported it to the police, the police then followed it around and then it went to the phone booth at the gas station where they picked the guy up.

But that was not my point ... my point is simple. We would be foolish to constrain such ruthless enemies to the train of thought tht it can;t be them because they didn;t take credit, whether they have taken credit for some things in the past or not. We give them a great advantage when we do that.

IMHO, the real problem is that we have no idea how many illegals are in this country, and we are doing little to stop the influx. Unless and until we make a real attempt to control our borders and deport ALL illegals, our situation will only get worse.

Under normal circumstances I would agree with you- send their butts to jail to punish them. But I think sending them back the third world sh*thole they come from is a much beter punishment. It saves the taxpayer money to boot instead of giving them more welfare.

Just stick their names, faces etc. in whatever databases it is that makes coming back here a very very bad idea.
