That is a new twist on the story.
I remember the Feds (I think it was) came in to ELFs main information office and took computers ect.
This was in Eugene Oregon and was over a year ago if my memory serves me correct.
The two head haunchos at Elf resigned and it seems the group has not been very active. Lack of interest and recruietments.
Their website has not been updated for sometime. I check now and then.
So I really do not know that they are that active other tree sitting.

Nobody addresses a policeman as "Policeman" in English either. ...except perhaps a child.

(I sure hope Chief Moose didn't screw up the message.) Moose is in Montgomery County, Maryland 90 miles from Ashland, VA. Why is he running this phone thing?

"Someone with tarot deck who shoots are people at gas stations, Home Depot and restaurant seems to me to be a eco-terrorist who is protesting gas guzzlers, wood used for building and people who eat beef." Interesting theory, really...but trying to make it fit all the shootings...what would an eco-terrorist have against people at a CRAFTS store, and then there is the boy who was shot in front of his school....

It IS obvious there is more than one person. Perhaps they both shoot. Otherwise what is to keep #2, et al from snitching out the real shooter for 500K and a light sentence? Something is holding these guys together. And there is only one thing radical enough....Islam.

The best example of the sound can be found in the movie "We Were Soldiers" with Mel Gibson. Exact. Rent it and be impressed. Besides it's a darn good movie.

MSNBC-----> The message contained significant text and was found in woods behind the restaurant, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported Monday, quoting law enforcement sources it did not name. The report also said police have found more than one tarot card during the investigation.
This could be a very difficult time we are about to go through, an investigator told NBCs David Bloom at the scene of the shooting, without elaborating.THIS is spooky.

I reiterate (say again for those of you in Reolindo) calls can be bounced and yes they will pin register however, to someone with even simple hacker skills calls can be routed with dead ends. They ping to CO's and simply get lost.
Either way, I hope they catch this (these) folks soon.
I have my doubts though if the FBI is now involved.

I disagree that there is more than one shooter. It appears to me that the sniper acts alone, is highly trained, proficient (although not in the Lon Horiuichi category), disciplined, intelligent, and dedicated. He neither wants nor needs anyone else.
"He travels fastest who travels alone." Plus, partners can snitch. Why would he need a partner? To do what? He can do it all himself. After all, he is God.
The evidence suggests to me that our sniper is a home grown terrorist who knows the lay of the land like the back of his hand, has been highly trained by either the military or law enforcement or both, knows police procedures and how to thwart them, and has a grudge against Chief Moose and/or his department. His job (assuming he has one) allows him to be out and about scoping out new cites and carrying out shootings without arousing attention. He is not Middle Eastern in appearance, and could easily blend in anywhere.
Sometimes he walks, sometime he drives. I dougbt that he has a white van. He uses a single shot from a single weapon. The single shot allows him to make a quick getaway. He does not really care if the victim lives or not, and a second shot would allow the direction of the shooter to become known. He may be proud of his skill using one shot, but practicalities, not ego, drive his one shot rule. He uses a single weapon so that it can be more easily shed when the time comes.
His weapon is either a deconstructable rifle or a rifle calibre pistol. Within seconds after the shooting, he is walking down the street toward his car carrying a backpack, duffle bag, briefcase, etc., totally escaping suspicion from anyone who is looking for a guy who has just used a gun to shoot someone.
Putting this all together, my vote is for a current or former, presumably disgruntled LEO with an unknown agenda or something to prove. He is not a "psycho" or a "nut," unless you are going to take the position that all murderes are by definition a psychotic nut.
We will now more about his motives when we know more about him. It could be something so petty as being passed over for promotion or being told he didn't make the grade for an elite team. He is using the 911 tragedy as cover. He is a terrorist, but his terror is a means to an end, not the end itself. I can only speculate about what that end might be, but his unlitmate objective may not be that important, except only to him.
This is the best explanation that I have been able to come to given the known facts and reasonable inferences and interpretations thereof.

Another Freeper suggested that Moose is merely a figurehead, that the FBI is calling the shots, telling him what to say ... and not to say. I think that Freeper is correct. Someone on FNC said that this was indeed the case. The FBI bungled the anthrax case so badly that they did not want to be out front and center. So they send the Moose to do that for them while they run the investigation behind the scene.

I wonder if the sniper ate dinner at the Ponderosa while scoping out his next victim. Hmmm, security cameras, I wonder?

He doesn't have to run it-he was chosen head of the task force. But I wonder if the sniper(s) know him? maybe in Oregon-he keeps saying things about these acts are designed to hurt our nation-that makes me think it is terrorism and somehow Moose is the conduit for communication.
To: spicy5772
The media called it a "cryptic" message. That means that there will be a way of communicating that only the Chief and the Sniper can figure out. You really believe that?
Maybe it simply that Moose can't put a sentence together?

Maybe it's simply that Moose can't put a sentence together?

And that the rest of the texyt indicated a threat to step up the violence

Anybody seeing this? They've arrested somebody in a white van in VA near a phone booth.
