I was more reacting to the idea (not put forward by you) that the police are falling down on the job....

The pulled thread was related to a specific action of police this morning...

Interesting that you should say this..seems that whenever someone has interesting information to be checked out, they're not being called back...it's as if they don't want to find him deliberately..

This is true even when giving them little info. You could say I know the beltway sniper and they would probably give you the same call back brushoff.

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, but I didn't like the way this was used as a publicity stunt by Sliwa and MSNBC.

I've got to get back to work, but there was just something that rankled me about this, and that was the publicity stunt aspect of it. So many of us have friends and relatives in the area and I want them protected 24/7, which is impossible, of course.

Your idea about national guards being used at gas stations and wearing bullet proof vests isn't extreme at all. In fact, I've heard on the news that the Gov. of the two states are considering calling out the Guard. Saw a civilian pumping gas at a gas station and he'd bought a bullet proof vest!

Seems like many are starting to discredit the white boxtruck theory. This will no doubt lead to the discrediting of the white van due to everyone looking for a white vehicle.

I have something for you to consider...IF this is a student...he is going to be very interested in "TOYS"...I believe the SNIPER is using a hand held GPS device...he has all coordinates plugged in and is using it to navigate through the woods in a rapid escape...

I still believe he is using the cover of brush and woods and his car may be parked up to a mile away.

I also WON'T be surprised if we see him start firing across bodies of water...a river that is deep enough to prevent someone to run across or wade across...but skinny enough to allow a shot to travel with NO OBSTRUCTIONS and the sniper will be able to get away and have a NATURAL barrier to allow him plenty of time to escape.

Heard it was an older burgandy sedan ... reportedly matched a vehicle seen at the DC crime scene... anybody have more specifics re: make/model/year please fill in the blanks...

WMAL broke into Sean Hannity's program with a special report about a Baltimore resident, former Marine who was involved in a domestic shooting incident a few nights ago. When they searched his home, they found a rifle, ammunition, and a Chevy Astrovan. Baltimore Police are directing inquiries to Chief Moose who so far hasn't made a statement that I know of.

WMAL update: He is 37 years old, and he was shot during the domestic dispute. They found an AR-15 and tarot cards. Police still saying no connection in the case.
