Sorry about the format, but it was akin to herding cats.

Thanks for the post (and the e-mail). Is the fourth picture a B2? If it is, did they let you see it up close?

9th pic is a B-1B Lancer.
BTW, Bert, thanks for the P-39 pic, you almost never see this aeronautical oddity...

The B-2 only did a low fly over and it is hard to see even when you know it is there.
The other picture is a B-1-B and they let you in the cockpit for the first time this year.

It's always the first week end in October.

The annual airshow at the Van Nuys Airport in the San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles) was cancelled this year because of 9/11/01.........organizers said that they were unable to provide adequate security to ensure the safety of the public.
Thanks for the pics!

OK I just circled the week on my Brooke Burke 2003 Calander !!..........No excuses next year !
Stay Safe Bert !

Wow! Sounds like great fun!
Discovery has a show on right now (2 PM Eastern)about the next generation of military aircraft. I'll watch it and get educated...

razorback-bert,
thanks for the vicarious thrills.
I especially like the Bell Airacobra and the B-29 "Fifi".
I've got to make it to Midland on the first weekend in October one of these years!
For any lurkers/posters in flyover country...
The "Salute To Veterans" Airshow at Columbia, MO each Memorial Day weekend is usually
a good airshow, with lots of local US military presence.
IIRC, they usually have show info up at least a few months in advance at:

Yup. That's the NEW name in the title of this thread--the Commemerative Air Force. It's no longer the Confederate Air Force. :-(
