[history]
October 12, 2002 -- If voters got a second chance to pick between George W. Bush and Al Gore, it would be a Bush blowout by 59 to 34 percent, according to a new nationwide Marist College poll.
There could well be a Bush-Gore rematch, because Gore remains the top 2004 presidential pick among Democrats. Meanwhile, Gore's spokesman yesterday said Gore would have voted against the Iraq resolution, putting him at odds with all potential Democratic presidential candidates in the House and Senate.

I would have to agree with that.
After seeing Gore make an utter fool of himself during the last two weeks, many are probably wondering how they voted for this ozone air-head in the first place.

Was that 34% for the bearded gore or 34% for the clean-shaven job? I just can't make up my mind on which algore they are talking about.

Totally agree with this. Gore'll get crushed in 2004 if he gets nominated. In 2000 he had every advantage but Bush still beat him. With Bush having every advantage on his side, now, he'll crush Gore like a bug.
Of course, given the Democrats' recent shenanigans, I fully expect them to force Gore out of the race and then throw somebody else in when he looks like he's definitely gonna lose. And then when THAT person looks like a loser they'll force that person to drop out and stick in a new candidate and so on. Heh. I keep reading around here how some say Gore will be the candidate. Others say Kerry. Others say Edwards. Others say Gephardt. All those guesses may very well turn out to be right. Stinking Democrat sore losers. There is no force on this Earth short of death that can keep me from going to the polls on election day and make sure those sorry, corrupt bastards don't get into office.

I going to re-register as a Democrat so I can vote for Gore in the Democratic primary. I encourage others to do the same - W will be safe despite my lack of vote in the Republican primary.

What are the chances of THIS nightmare scenerio......
Gore is nominated. A week before final election day he drops out of race citing health problems or something, and the Dems pull a "New Jersey" and stick Hillery on the ballot. After all the waters have been tested for such a move. This would leave the Republicans with no time to campaign against Hillery, no time for her to have to answer any hard questions. Just enough time for her to look like the "savior" of the party.

Totally agree with this. Gore'll get crushed in 2004 if he gets nominated. That's going to be the best part of the entire 2004 election IMHO- the Democratic Nomination Process. They're going to be at each other's throats like mad dogs. I wonder how many different ways they're going to rip Gore's soft underbelly out? I think Lieberman is going to be one of the most vicious. At any rate, I can't wait to see it.

"In related news, Democrat Party Chairman Terry McAuliffe today denied reports that the 2004 Democrat National Convention would be held inside a steel cage."

We would deserve everything we get if Hitlery wins whether in your nightmare scenario or as the nominee from the beginning. The nightmare scenario for me is her being the VP and taking over through a resignation or accident that removes the President. Of the two, the accident is more worrisome given that it could be a pretext for her making an Al Haig declaration only unlike Haig, she'd have the authority to say it and follow through.

I can't wait to see it....Democrat Nominating Convention in 2004. Cockfighting would be more humanitarian.

We just bought a Gore mask at the Bargain Box (marked way down of course) in hopes of getting to use it. Now I am looking for a shirt to paint huge sweat stains on. LOL

You are right...there will be a core 34% who would vote for SATAN if he ran as a democrat...and, although I like the result of this poll, we must remember that Bush had the SAME margin before the last election, but LOST the popular vote (alhtough probably due to fraud)
To: Ann Archy
Trouble is: that 34 percent includes school teachers and college professors that have the job of brainwashing our kids.

Whatever moves are made by the Democrats - whether they put Al Bore up there 'til the very end, or pull him at the 11th hour to replace him with someone else (Her Royal C?) - whatever the scenarios turn out to be - the Clintons will be pulling the strings.

there will be a core 34% who would vote for SATAN if he ran as a democrat Actually, I think they would prefer Satan. They keep trying to run his sister, but she's not polling well nationally.

There could well be a Bush-Gore rematch Bring it on!

A Perpetual 34% of STUPID people......
That 34% probably represents 60% of Democrats. Which means the Dems may just nominate him again. He'll carry 99.44% of the media and one, maybe two states.
