Senate bill 1118 would restrict the ability of third class Pennsylvania cities in their use of eminent domain. The bill was introduced as a result of the plight of Richard and Nancy Saha, who are fighting to keep their home from the City of Coatesville, which wants to turn it into a golf course.

Please click on the link above to see members of the Urban Affairs Committee. They must vote the bill out of committee to allow the full House to vote. If/when they do, the bill would go to the governor, who (I believe) will sign it.

Please help get this bill passed.

This bill would require that third class cities get the permission of the municipality in which they are exercising eminent domain. Right now, a third class city CAN condemn property outside its limits. The bill would restrict this practice.

Democrats in Coatesville pretend this is a revitilization
move for the "people" and it is pure crap. It is a move to take land for elites and Jim Furyk waits in the wings to help the poor realize the dream. The golf course will be built using hard working American's stolen land. I am betting that a group (yet unnamed) will come in and purchase this golf course from the city after a certain amount of time. This is not a "city saving job producing move", it is land theft under the banner of city improvement. It is all a lie and there will be no good jobs for community people. Mowing lawns and raking sand pits pays Burger King wages. It is all total crapola.
