Judging by what the Committee chairman said, Carter should return the prize.....if he were an honorable man.............

The Nobel Prize is a tragic joke. The same prize was given to the father of all terrorists - Yasser Aarafat! The Nobel Committee has credibility only with those who think like they do. But they disgust me, as does the bumbling Jimmy Carter.

Strength is the only way to obtain
peace in the presence of evil, but the Nobel committee will never
recognize that simple yet undeniable truth.

My Comments which if they are accepted will be pposted in the next few hours. I like them posted now on FR. Thus:

The fact that Gunnar Berge of the Nobel Committee admits that giving the award to Carter is really a slap at the United States and President Bush, speaks volumes of how totally corrupt Carter is if he accepts it. A thoroughly inept President who watched his countrymen held hostage for 444 days by a third world despot now becomes a thoroughly contemptible ex-President. What more could be expected of someone who desparately seeks to expunge the stench of his time in office.

Carter deserves the Alan Alda award for phony women's perfect milquetoast man.

I wish I'd come up with that one.

Jimmy Carter was selected for the Nobel Peace prize because he perfectly represents the world's desire for an effeminized, taciturn, impotent America.

Amen.

Jimmy Carter was selected for the Nobel Peace prize because he perfectly represents the world's desire for an effeminized, taciturn, impotent EVERYTHING. I don't think there is a pair of Balls in the entire committee.

Jimmy Carter is a well meaning boob that couldn't get out of his own way for his own stupidity.

Ask the people of Iran if they think Carter is a man of peace.  They've lived under the Ayatollah Kohmenie for twenty-three years due to Carter's sell-out of the Shah.  I'm sure the women there have appreciated having to hibernate for that period of time, faces and bodies forever hidden, their private sexual organs subject to be surgically altered in the name of Allah.  Instead of having an ally in the middle east to help stabilize the region, we have had a rogue state willing to aide people like the Taliban and Al Qaeda.  Nice move Jimmy.  Ask the people of El Salvador or Nicaragua if they appreciated having to live under communist regimes or suffer the violence of communist insurgents due to Carter's withdrawal of support from those nation's leaderships.

Jimmy Carter "masterminded" (LOL) a peace between Israel and Egypt which today sees hundreds of tanks lined up on Egypt's border pointed toward Israel.  Egypt is no more at peace with Israel than Syria is.  Both support the Hezbollah.  Both allow venomous vitriol to appear in their press comparing Israel to Nazi Germany, Sharon to Adolph Hitler, the Israeli people to dogs.  Both allow their press to call for another genocide on the order of the WWII Holocaust.  Yeah Jimmy, you sure gave us peace bud.

Jimmy Carter hasn't done an interview for the last fifteen years without mentioning that he is involved with Habitat for Humanity.  He lists his own good deeds ad-nausium.  The man is a self-righteous empty vessel.  His interference in the USA's attempt to stop the North Korean's missile and nuclear program, allowed the north to proliferate at least some of it's missile technology to such savory nations as Iran, Libya and Iraq.  If ever there were a man who deserved the Neville Chamberlain award, Jimmy is that man.

Jimmy Carter has now received one of Nobel's highest honors.  He will go down in history as a man who received the same award as Yasser Arafat.  The one good thing that will come of this is that Jimmy will no longer need to toot his own horn.  He will be introduced as a Nobel Peace prize winner everywhere he goes, as if that meant anything any longer.

Perhaps the one thing my life will be noted for, is helping to vote that pathetic excuse for a man out of office.

Nobel Peace Price: Did the Right Man win?

Let's put it this way: Considering the nature of the award, the people who selected the winner, the criteria used to determine the winner, and the ultimate choice of winner,....

The award is perfect. As the Lord High executioner would say, let the punishment fit the crime.

Your post sums up the man's pathetic career perfectly.

I too am proud that each time I had the opportunity to vote for him......I declined the offer.:-)

I'm going out on a limb here...

Without Jimmy Carter:

Iran would have remained a valued ally
Iranian people would not have had to endure ten times the violence Carter condemned the Shah of Iran for
Iranian women could have remained westernized, not having to hide from public view
Iranian women (at least some of them) would not have had to submit themselves to mutilation
We would likely not have had a Gulf War
If we did have a Gulf War anyway, we would have certainly had a valued ally to support us without the limitations placed by Saudi Arabia
The Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman would have remianed adjacent to a good ally, not subject to constant threat
Kuwait, Saudi Arabia's eastern shores, Bahrain, Quatar, Abu Dhabi and Oman would not be under constant threat
There is a good chance that the Shah or his sons would have neutralized Osama Bin Laden before his dastardly deeds
Israel would more than likley not be facing scud impacts on it's soil, with heaven only knows what kind of warheads

And last but not least, we wouldn't have had to spend the last 22 years watching and listening as Jimmy desparately tried to rehabilitate his image

This was limited to Jimmy's middle-eastern legacy.  God forbid we should examine the whole of his legacy

Thanks Jimmy

I told those Brits that their own Tony Blair would make a far better choice. He is boldly speaking out about the mad dictator Saddam Hussein and backs it up with the military might required to bring freedom to the Middle East. There is no peace without freedom!!!

DOH!! "Rehabilitate!" That's the word I was looking for. I told the Brits that he has been desperately seeking restitution for his failed presidency. Oh well, close enough!
