but surely some commentator has called this affair a sort of despicable "elder abuse".

Someone should just say that Leahy probably made the "promise", thinking that
Strom would probably just forget about it, or just let it slide during the rounds of
retirement good-bye ceremonies.

I watched CSpan when this happened. What else should we expect from a liberal DEMORAT????? They lie, cheat and will do anything for power. Being from VT, there is a good chance that Leahy believes in euthanasia. He would probably like to euthanasize Strom. He probably still thinks Strom is "racist" and deep down just hates the old South Carolinian.
