Left-wing Sen. Paul Wellstone, D-Minn., singled out a cameraman for attack by a Democrat mob in Duluth.
Buried deep in a sickeningly pro-Wellstone, anti-business story in something called the Minnesota Daily, an "independent" student newspaper at the University of Minnesota, is this account of the attack Saturday at an anti-trade rally:
"University student Andy Carhart said he thought the activists vast mix of backgrounds was great.
"'I think people have gotten along together extremely well,' he said.
Tee Hee
"'Except for the camera guy,' added fellow University student Pete Meidlinger.
"Meidlinger referred to a Republican who attended the event apparently to film Wellstones speech.
"As Wellstone began his speech, he thanked the speakers who preceded him and concluded the accolades by thanking the 'Republican cameras,' gesturing to an individual with a digital video camera.
"The cameraman was jostled throughout the speech as activists held signs in front his camera and bumped into him.
"At one point, after moving to a new location, the cameraman was pushed into an apparent union worker who responded with kidney-punches into the cameramans side.
"Volunteers rushed to the scuffle and escorted away the cameraman, who held his hands in the air," the Minnesota Daily reported Monday.
Imagine the widespread outrage and publicity if Republican thugs attacked a Democrat cameraman. But of course, some people think the First Amendment applies only to left-wingers (although election laws apparently don't).
P.S.: Republican Norm Coleman, former mayor of St. Paul, leads Wellstone in the polls.

Not even Fox news? I would think Brit Hume might be interested.
DSA recognizes that some insurgent politicians representing labor, environmentalists, gays and lesbians, and communities of color may choose to run under Democratic auspices, as in the 1988 Jesse Jackson campaign, or operate as Democrats like Senator Paul Wellstone, and the 59 Democratic members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, one-half of whom are Black and Latino and all of whom possess strong labor backing and operative social democratic politics.
