AL-MUKALLA: The explosion which crippled a French supertanker off Yemen could not be due to a technical fault, the ship's captain, Hubert Ardillon, told reporters here on Tuesday.
"The way the explosion happened it could not be due to a technical problem," Ardillon said.
"A member of the crew told me he saw a small boat approach and I believe him."
A US official said on Monday that initial evidence suggested that Sunday's explosion that crippled the Limburg was accidental, as Yemen has claimed, and not terrorism.

Go the Strange Cosmos, and link up the latest picture of the tanker. The hull metal is imploded inward, not outward. Clearly a terrorist action, not an onboard "accident"

Can't have anybody think this is terrorism. That would hurt prices on the stock market, and raise the price of oil.

Well, it has to be an accident. Otherwise the French would be in the embarrassing position of not knowing to whom they should surrender.

Of course it was an accident. The Americans were the intended target. They didn't mean to hit the French.

NOW

In Aden, Yemen, the USS Cole in October 12, 2000. 17 US sailors were murdered by perhaps the same technique.

I'm sorry to hear that a "US Official" is lying about this. I expect the French to lie about it, but I don't know why we are butting in. We had enough of that kind of nonsense during the clinton years.
We are at war, and people have to learn to live with it.

It was Greenpeace -- they're getting back at the French Government for destroying the
Rainbow Warrior.
(The boat, that is, not the homosexual superhero)

I just can't believe that by now, debris from any small boat that caused the explosion haven't been recovered and analyzed. The incident took place on Sunday, for cryin' out loud.
There must be lots of high level confabs going on behind the scenes on whether or not to cover this up.

...debris from any small boat... If they used a zodiac-type boat or a small outboard, there wouldn't be much (if anything) left

Yup, definitely an explosion from the outside at waterline. Looks very similar to what happened to USS Cole, except with Cole being a much smaller ship than a supertanker, the hole looked much larger in proportion to the ship.
