Law Enforcement Meltdown in Montgomery County
Various Live Broadcasts

Posted on 10/07/2002 4:00:45 PM PDT by tracer

Montgomery County, MD Police Chief Moose just told the world that he is asking (waving letter for the cameras) the U. S. Department of Justice and everyone else who is listening to help him crack the recent mass murders (5 people) and non-fatal sniper shootings.

The Mongomery County DA just referred to the "cold-blooded murderer of a 13-year-old boy" (who, as far as everyone knows, still is alive and stabilized). Spokespersons from the ATF, the U.S, Attorney, and others are promising to work with the MC police to solve the case which, thanks to local and national mediawhores (one word), has thousands and thousands in a state of terror.

Heaven help us all -- if this is how the sheeple react to deaths which are few in number albeit tragic -- when terrorists strike again on US soil on a large scale....

Well, windbag, you didn't give any solid advice in Post #15.

I don't agree with the way Chief Moose states his case, but I'd trust him with my life. He's one of the good guys!

I suspect that he's a whole lot better than the previous "chief" of the Montgomery County police, who had to retire several years ago, under a cloud.

By the way, in early 1999 I bought my house from the former chief and her parents. It was their "summer home".

I heard these jokers during this morning's press conference. I'll tell you what, if some agent of the state warned me to not think "individually" (that's what he said) so as not to show up at the school to remove my child - I'd be at the school in record time to get him out of there.

It is plainly obvious that these people are amateurs. I'm glad I'm not relying up their "protection" right now.

The guy's in over his head. That happens. Cops take these "sleepy burb" gigs to have all the positive emotions of being a cop (helping the citizens etc.) and not get shot at all the time like big city cops. The big city just landed in his lap. Give him a chance to adjust, the big dogs are there to help, they'll do what they can, at some point they'll catch the bad guy, everything will be fine. Not every is prepared to be in charge of a massive investigation like this.

The more that law enforcement and mediawhores unwittingly and wittingly, respectively, turn this sad situation into a carnival, the more likely that the big, bad super-sniper will seek to prolong the endorphin rush he has been enjoying non-stop since last Thursday.

How is it a carnival? Would you have the media just go silent? Then, when the next shooting occurred, you'd bitch that the media didn't do enough to let people know what was going on.

The blood of his future victims will not be on his hands alone....

Yes it will.

You're a strange duck. Maybe you're just scared to death like everybody else up there and this is your way of coping, slamming the cops and the media.

In no way do I fault the police, some of who are friends of mine, in the pursuit of this murderer.

And I hope that the feds make a solid contribution towards craclkking the case. I just wish that they'd quit yammering about it in response to the hounding of the Rapists of the First Amendment.

They are at a tremendous disadvantage with few clues, lack of apparent motive, and the increasingly emotional hoopla brought to you by the premiere newswhores of the world, the news media of Washington, D.C. and environs.

Chief Moose has shown himself to be a very human and caring professional who has done a great job, IMO, of organizing a daunting effort. I just wish that he and his associates -- and we do have a very good police department here -- could or would decide to do what they do best without interference from professional fear-mongers.....

I hope they get a break in the case soon, the SOB that's doing this needs to be given the needle asap so he can rot in hell where he belongs.

Unfortunately, in the Maryland liberal hell that Glenspending and KKT have given us, there's a moratorium on executions.

I wonder if there's any chance of the federal death penalty in this case.

Your headline only lacks a ? at the end. You are correct though If he needs help, which I would should I be in his position, he asks for it privately, hopefully with out the media present.

He needs to stay away from the media and do his job. He wants it both ways, high media attention with out any criticism.

It just does not work that way.

That pretty well sums up what I was thinking. In time, and soon I hope, enough information will be shared by the various agencies involved and this monster will be caught. It is true that the agency involved is probably not accustomed to having a case of such enormity dropped on it. But, if police are truly brothers, they will quickly put aside their territorial battles and work to quickly solve this.

And let us hope that this does not become common enough that every small town cop gets enough experience. The reason this is getting so much attention is because it is unusual. Let's hope it stays that way. I want the chief of police in my town to learn about this at some FBI academy class, not in real life.

BTW, I generally find that people who use the term "sheeple" about others have a false sense of superiority.

And I don't see the FBI or the ATF cracking this thing now!
This is *just* the kind of case that

a) sharp lab work coupled with
b) exhaustive nation-wide detective work following up on leads phoned-in from from across the country

that these nationwide law enforecement agencies and bureaus were designed for.

The hard laborious sifting for facts, the detection of the slightest bit of intel from sometimes disparately placed sources ('phone tips') followed up by the analysis of these clues are the means by which the brunt of 'puzzles' lke this are solved - and it takes agnencies/bureaus with manpower and the proper assets to do that ...

This murderer is not a SNIPER...snipers in our military are the good guys ..the elite of the elite
These bastards are ASASSINS..from the Arabic word hashshashin meaning a murderer of innocents or political rivals..
