I was unable to find anything in the media on this even, and even a Google newsgroup search didn't even show an announcement of this event, so I am somewhat flummoxed as to how this came to be.

That's a perfect example of how stupid the libs/socialists are. They tell all their people to gather via underground communications, which means nobody that they're trying to convince has a clue their "rally" is even happening. This probably won't even get any news coverage outside of the immediate area, which means it may as well have never happened. *snicker*

Not that would have had one iota of effect even if every network had carried the whole thing live. People don't like to listen to obnoxious, unwashed trust-fund kids whining and moaning.

Big one in Central Park today too. I heard about it by word of mouth only Thursday evening.

Also saw a teenage girl walking through a street fair today with a sign around her neck saying "Bush: Why Don't You Choke on Another Pretzel?" She must go to one of those compassionate Muslim schools.

It's been a big peacenik week...they're getting hysterical over the possibility of war, and elections coming up. They will probably continue their antics for a couple more weeks. I could handle it if it were just the anti-war message, but their whole agenda is tainted by their anti-American, socialist, and just plain contrary pasts. They dropped out, tuned in, turned on and even 3000 dead Americans won't turn them off. I find peaceniks disgusting! </ end of rant >

On the AP wire...

Thousands rally for peace in San Francisco

(10-06) 15:59 PDT SAN FRANCISCO (AP) --

A sweaty throng of thousands of anti-war protesters jammed the city's Union Square on Sunday, beating drums, hoisting signs and proclaiming their opposition to war with Iraq.

It was one of dozens of anti-war rallies across the country organized by the Not in Our Name Project, a grassroots group opposing a range of Bush administration actions. Demonstrations also were held in New York, Chicago, Portland, Ore., and many smaller communities.

Marchers used a thesaurus of adjectives to describe their disenchantment, calling the president a "warmonger," "racist," "irresponsible," and "stoopid."

Women in designer jeans and high-heeled shoes marched next to students in tie-dyed T-shirts and Birkenstocks. The driver of a cable car surrounded by the throng clanged his bell in time to pulsating reggae music, joined by the honking of dozens of trapped taxis.

"We don't want war. It's clearly for fabricated reasons," said Taliya Ansari of Hercules, Calif., who came with her family after hearing of the rally at her mosque. "We don't want people to die. (Iraq is) not doing anything to us."

For the president, the question seemed to be not if, but when, to wage war against Iraq. Stumping in Manchester, N.H., for Senate candidate John Sununu, Bush didn't mention the 50 demonstrators protesting outside, or the gatherings around the country. But he reiterated his stance that the United States must disarm Iraq to protect American lives.

And in his weekend radio address, Bush urged Congress to give him authority to remove Saddam and deal quickly with Iraq's arsenal of chemical and biological weapons.

"Delay, indecision and inaction ... could lead to massive and sudden horror" for the United States, Bush said.

Still, demonstrators appealed for restraint before the United States enters another war.

San Francisco police added several dozen officers to handle the crowd, which was feisty but peaceful, waving their signs before a backdrop of Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Tiffany & Co., Levi's and Macy's.

"This is a country full of people that won't let the government start this immoral war in our name," rally organizer Tanya Mayo yelled from a stage swathed in peace banners, blue balloons and the names of victims of past wars.

Thanks for the report, andrew. I'm appalled at the lemmings march over the cliffs of madness. In NYC, too, they march today.

Tiny Tommy Two-faces, Fatpig Teddy and the Baghdad Trio have all gotta be loving this...not to mention the al-queda types, watching on TV the very lambs they hope soon to slaughter.

Mama always said that stupid is as stupd does.

Ya done good with yer spontaneous invective, no need to waste any more breath than you have to, as their ears and heads are fulla crap and the truth will evade their understanding until further evil shatters their denial. Even then, the most rabid will remain unconvinced.

We must be thinking the same thing. Yesterday I was driving to South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif to do some shopping and reap the benefits of Capitalism. There they were, the exact same people you just described, professors, burns outs, essentially a whole lot of half-wits. I too, yelled out "losers". Incidently, they had signs that read "honk for peace". I heard no honking.

What those lefties in Westwood need is a good COUNTER-FReep, like THIS one in Tennessee, from http://www.newschannel9.com/vnews/topstories/1033943909/:
War of Words During War Protest

Story by Mike Dello Stritto on Sun, Oct 6th 2002 (5:38 PM)

It was supposed to be a protest against the war on terror. Then a group protesting the protestors showed up to Miller Park in Chattanooga...

Several dozen showed up for a scheduled rally promoting world peace. They were met joined by a small group wanting their voice heard as well.

Those protesting war ended up in a war of words with two women in support of a possible military attack on Iraq-- at times drowning out even those speaking at the rally.

"Resist, Resist, show them them that we're pissed," a group of women parodying cheerleaders screamed to the crowd.

The real show is going on in the crowd.

"Don't nobody want to hear that!" one man screams at a woman carriying the American flag.

"I don't care," June Griffin responded.

Meanwhile, a man with a preaches to a crowd of about two dozen.

"Today is the national day of resistance against the empire- against the American empire," the man screams into a bullhorn.

Those resisting war met plenty of resistance at the park.

"They're under the influence of that wicked ACLU who hates god and hates this country," Ruth Ann Wilson screams.

One poster proclaims 'one world one people.' There's a world of difference between those here.

"I came out here to deonstrate freedom of speech, personally," protestor Sayota Miguel Knight says."

"This is your free speech crowd right here," June Griffin says, showing us her poster war protestors took and tore into pieces.

It gets so heated, one man steps inbetween a man and a woman arguing about war.

"Ignore the idots," another man said on the bullhorn, as those protesting the protest stood in front of demonstrators.

"All you can say is god bless the American bomb!" Ruth Ann Wilson shouted back to the anti-war protestors.

This might not be a war, but it's certainly far from peace, and much further from any sort of conclusion.

The National Day of Resistance coincides with the one year anniversary of the attack on Afghanistan and a resolution that might get Congressional approval this week. It would give President Bush the stamp of approval for an Attack on Iraq.

This National Day of Resistance in being marked in several cities around the country. Local organizers tell us thousands are meeting for similar rallies from New York to Los Angeles.

Sorry, lefties in California, though - we're too busy "DUMPING DAVIS!" to bother with you right now.
If those losers are still around in a month, we will FReep 'em THEN - AFTER Election Day (11/5).

Strange, I didn't see these huge anti-war demonstrations when the Traitor-in-chief X42 launched us into a war against Christians in the Balkans who never even remotely threatened U.S. national security. Perhaps the usual anti-war suspects were pacified by the fact that we were fighting on the side of Muslim terrorists in that conflict.
