MASSIVE Anti-War Rally in Westwood, CA Right Now
10/06/02 | Me

Posted on 10/06/2002 4:17:17 PM PDT by andrew

At approximately 3:15 I drove through Westwood, though diverted by closed streets and a huge police presence, I was able to see the makings of the largest Anti-War protest and march I have ever seen in person. I was able to see the march's origins, about a mile plus away from the Federal Building near Federal and Wilshire (ironically near the U.S. Army Reserve and large Veterans Administration facilities.)

What looked like thousands, and possibly tens of thousands, were marching towards the Federal building, site of many a protest in the past -- notable an anti-Impeachment rally featuring Barbra Streisand.

I could see the usual suspects on my drive-by: old hippies, professor types, westside lefties, anarchists looking types, certain folks pretty overt about their Marxist leanings, etc. But it could have been worse. I even yelled, "Loser" to one lady sitting with a sign on the NW corner of Sepulveda and Wilshire. (I give myself a zero for wit, but they really have me pissed off.)

I was unable to find anything in the media on this even, and even a Google newsgroup search didn't even show an announcement of this event, so I am somewhat flummoxed as to how this came to be.

I am walking there right now, and will come back to this thread later to report.

No disrespect but....who cares? Let'em scream and chant and slit their wrists.

----------------------

I care. It's just beginning to build up. It's why we lost the Viet Nam War. That war was lost here, not in Viet Nam.

"They dropped out, tuned in, turned on and even 3000 dead Americans won't turn them off. I find peaceniks disgusting!"

What? You don't like Hollyweird/Berkeley style "Peace at ANY PRICE," Commonists, yellin "BRING IT ALL DOWN, MAAAAANNN!"??? (grin) (Rantin is fun! Don't stop on my account!)

Thanks for the report, andrew. I'm appalled at the lemmings march over the cliffs of madness. In NYC, too, they march today.

Tiny Tommy Two-faces, Fatpig Teddy and the Baghdad Trio have all gotta be loving this...not to mention the al-queda types, watching on TV the very lambs they hope soon to slaughter.

Mama always said that stupid is as stupd does.

Ya done good with yer spontaneous invective, no need to waste any more breath than you have to, as their ears and heads are fulla crap and the truth will evade their understanding until further evil shatters their denial. Even then, the most rabid will remain unconvinced.

"We don't want war. It's clearly for fabricated reasons," said Taliya Ansari of Hercules, Calif., who came with her family after hearing of the rally at her mosque. "We don't want people to die. (Iraq is) not doing anything to us."

Well, no, I can't say I am shocked to hear about this little burqa-nit's opinion. No doubt she thinks suicide bombing, slavery, and hijacking is a wonderful alternative to seeing the US kick the living snot out of her terrorist kinfolk. You see, her definition of 'people' doesn't neccessarily mean non-muslims.

"Taliya Ansari of Hercules, Calif., who came with her family after hearing of the rally at her mosque."

That line from the article is quite telling and I especially liked the way the AP author started out with "A sweaty throng!"

Way to WRITE, Karen Gaudette!!!

We must be thinking the same thing. Yesterday I was driving to South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif to do some shopping and reap the benefits of Capitalism. There they were, the exact same people you just described, professors, burns outs, essentially a whole lot of half-wits. I too, yelled out "losers". Incidently, they had signs that read "honk for peace". I heard no honking.

The Viet Nam war being lost here is exactly correct. Our government lost their resolve and wouldn't let our soldiers win the war. We let the peaceniks dictate to our representatives then, and they are doing it again. Since the peaceniks are already socialists they have no hesitancy to supporting the governments of tyrants and dictators, or giving aid and assistance to terrorist causes. They would have our country under their Marxist idealism in a heart beat if they could. They just might succeed if we don't let our voices be heard over theirs.

"It was one of dozens of anti-war rallies across the country organized by the Not in Our Name Project, a grassroots group opposing a range of Bush administration actions"

As usual the 'rat media leads in the lie, unless, of course, BS, Sheen, Meathead and the rest of the motley assortment of bi-(coastal and otherwise) mega millionaires who paid for the ad in the slimes which set the stage for the "spontaneous",,"not in our name" rallies, are what one would consider "grass roots".

It's up to Bush to confront the left with a crushing explanation of ideas and put these goofs in their place. I've been waiting for somebody to do this again since Reagan.

What those lefties in Westwood need is a good COUNTER-FReep, like THIS one in Tennessee, from http://www.newschannel9.com/vnews/topstories/1033943909/:
War of Words During War Protest

Story by Mike Dello Stritto on Sun, Oct 6th 2002 (5:38 PM)

It was supposed to be a protest against the war on terror. Then a group protesting the protestors showed up to Miller Park in Chattanooga...

Several dozen showed up for a scheduled rally promoting world peace. They were met joined by a small group wanting their voice heard as well.

Those protesting war ended up in a war of words with two women in support of a possible military attack on Iraq-- at times drowning out even those speaking at the rally.

"Resist, Resist, show them them that we're pissed," a group of women parodying cheerleaders screamed to the crowd.

The real show is going on in the crowd.

"Don't nobody want to hear that!" one man screams at a woman carriying the American flag.

"I don't care," June Griffin responded.

Meanwhile, a man with a preaches to a crowd of about two dozen.

"Today is the national day of resistance against the empire- against the American empire," the man screams into a bullhorn.

Those resisting war met plenty of resistance at the park.

"They're under the influence of that wicked ACLU who hates god and hates this country," Ruth Ann Wilson screams.

One poster proclaims 'one world one people.' There's a world of difference between those here.

"I came out here to deonstrate freedom of speech, personally," protestor Sayota Miguel Knight says."

"This is your free speech crowd right here," June Griffin says, showing us her poster war protestors took and tore into pieces.

It gets so heated, one man steps inbetween a man and a woman arguing about war.

"Ignore the idots," another man said on the bullhorn, as those protesting the protest stood in front of demonstrators.

"All you can say is god bless the American bomb!" Ruth Ann Wilson shouted back to the anti-war protestors.

This might not be a war, but it's certainly far from peace, and much further from any sort of conclusion.

The National Day of Resistance coincides with the one year anniversary of the attack on Afghanistan and a resolution that might get Congressional approval this week. It would give President Bush the stamp of approval for an Attack on Iraq.

This National Day of Resistance in being marked in several cities around the country. Local organizers tell us thousands are meeting for similar rallies from New York to Los Angeles.

Sorry, lefties in California, though - we're too busy "DUMPING DAVIS!" to bother with you right now.
If those losers are still around in a month, we will FReep 'em THEN - AFTER Election Day (11/5).

They tell all their people to gather via underground communications

Oh please. "Agent x9- the eagle lands at midnight. Aunt Rose needs her tulips, repeat, Aunt Rose needs her tulips. The ferret is in the cupboard. how copy, over?"

something like that?

They don't read all our crap, we don't read all theirs. I really doubt there's anything "Underground" about it.

Strange, I didn't see these huge anti-war demonstrations when the Traitor-in-chief X42 launched us into a war against Christians in the Balkans who never even remotely threatened U.S. national security. Perhaps the usual anti-war suspects were pacified by the fact that we were fighting on the side of Muslim terrorists in that conflict.

The 'schools not war' poster tell me the dems are slick. They got a rent a mob. They left Jesse out to not be as obvious.

This will not work either in their next desparate campaign.
