The leftists are organizing a counterculture protest over the weekend against the War on Iraq. Advertisements promoting their treason chic struggle to rid the world of an evil dictator appeared on Sept. 19th in the New York Times and on Oct. 4th in the Los Angeles Times . Notable signers include Edward Asner, Angela Davis, Noam Chomsky, Ramsey Clark, Ossie Davis, Daniel Ellsberg, Eve Ensler, Tom Hayden, Bell Hooks, Casey Kasem, Mumia Abu Jamal, Martin Luther King III, Michael Lerner, Katha Politt, Edward Said, Jonathan Schell, Gloria Steinem, Oliver Stone, Marisa Tomei, Kurt Vonnegut, and Howard Zinn. The website claims over 16,000 signers but the names listed here are fairly representative of the American Left. Comments are welcome.
