Need Advice on a Firearm Purchase (Only 2nd Vanity ever)
10/04/02 | me, myself and I

Posted on 10/04/2002 10:25:17 PM PDT by seeker41

Help me decide witch one of these firearms to purchase as I am confusing myself. Currently I own a SW 357 revolver and that's fine for home. I am female with small wrists and average sized hands, kinda long fingers and would value FReeper advice if you have experience with either of these weapons. Should I look at Glocks as well? I don't care for 9mms such as Ruger etc. Thanks in advance.

Here is my first choice
HK USP 45

Second Choice

He was, we broke up a short time later. Well, your a gentleman, that says alot. I quit drinking 15 years ago and don't miss it. We won't go into details in public about WHY.

Sam Adam's Summer Ale and about half a 1 liter bottle of straight vodka. I'm quitting drinking, I SWEAR! It's just not worth it. Although, I'll probably never get over my love of Belgian/German Ales.

The ideal self defense weapon:

This is a .177 cal minigun with a rate of fire of 1000 "rounds" per minute. Legal to own in all 50 states (I think).

For more information,see:
GEM-134 BB Minigun

Alot of people LOVE Glocks, but I personally don't. You may love them, but I can't bring myself to recommend them.

Hi, this is Karen.

My husband thinks that a .380 is my "style." I'm a good shot. When we left CO for NY, hubby sold his Browning and Mauser. Now that we're moving to NC, any thoughts on replacement hardware. We're retiring in NC and will be punching a lot of targets with a few .380s next Spring.

It's for the best IMO. Alcohol destroys your life for a tiny payback of a little buzz for awhile. There are so many reasons not to drink I couldn't even begin to list them. I hope I kick this crap pretty soon. I don't even smoke, except for when I drink.

My wife loves my Komber Compact, in fact I carry my Colt Govt (full) size because I can't get the Kimber away from her!!
If you want a ,45, you need to try the real thing, a 1911, the first and still the best.

I'm a little touchy when it comes to self defense (gun subjects) so I hope you didn't take too much offence to my rabidness. G'night.

Convenience of carry was the point of discussion with a close friend of mine and we both came to a conclusion that would lead to such a flame war here, I would not want to even say it openly!

One more before bed. Too bad I would have liked to have heard opinions about that, it is an important issue.

A major reason for the popularity of the 1911 versions is that the barrel is close to the web of the hand. Most others have the barrel higher. That gives more felt recoil.

I love them, but, since I am an engineer, I want to do it one better. I am working on a pistol that puts the barrel inline with the top of the hand, so NO muzzle jump between rounds. No, it doesnt take the top of your hand off either!

i love my Kimber as it's a lead laser, but i am interested in your descreption. muzzle jump is a concern to some, if a follow- up shot is needed.
