A new statewide survey shows that 53 percent of those asked support allowing those with a doctor's recommendation to get up to 2 ounces of marijuana a month free from the state Department of Public Safety. For everyone else, Proposition 203 also would reduce the penalty for possession of small amounts of marijuana to a civil offense, punishable by no more than a $250 fine. [No -- 33%, Don't know -- 15%; http://www.azdailysun.com/non_sec/nav_includes/story.cfm?storyID=49912]

What a lack of life some people have that they spend much of their free time worshiping the god of illegal drugs the state. There I fixed it for you.

Now we have the effective form of pot in a pill RX and there is no issue here. It has been solved False; some people can't keep the pill down, and others need to ajust their dosage more finely than the pill allows. Besides, why do you care in what form the medicine is adminstered? Is medicine only medicine if the pharamceutical industry has processed it?

It depends what you are trying to accomplish. If it is truly a question of libertarian principles and so on, then I suppose this is inadequate. If your desire is to see marijuana made more accessible and the risks/costs associated with criminal penalties reduced to insignificant levels, this is pretty much in the ballpark. If 99% of the time, 99% of drivers can drive 75 MPH in a 65MPH zone with little reason to fear any legal penalties, then what is the REAL speed limit? 65? or 75? The law is meaningless without the administration of pain. No pain, no law.

illegal drug users (addicts) Not all illegal drug users are addicts---and very few marijuana users are addicts, since marijuana is less addictive than caffeine.

That's about 140 joints/month, free. Think they'll have any left over? We'll find out.

OMG Huck - is that really your wife??? She is...devastating. Ok, I have recovered, no need for paramedics.

$250 is no risk at all. Anyone who is willing to buy weed for $50 per .125 oz is willing to pay this fine. Let's not forget that most of that $50 per .125 oz is a tax imposed by the War On Some Drugs---as is any difficulty one experiences in finding a seller.

"....get up to 2 oz FREE from the STATE"....meaning those who OPPOSE would have to pay for the dopers...nothing is FREE.

Think they'll have any left over? We'll find out. ANY prescription medication can be resold. What's your point?

as is any difficulty one experiences in finding a seller.Thats not an issue. There is no difficulty despite years and years and billions of dollars and tens of thousands of lives.
The WOD is an abject failure. Except as a way to keep the cyberthugs here in constant mental orgasm.

Besides, why do you care in what form the medicine is adminstered? The nagging fear that someone, somewhere, is feeling better than they are.Aahhh - and here lies the root of the issue: this is a tribal thing. The tribe bans the use of items that will sap the work ethic from the villagers. I understand this.
But Dagnabit I am a successful person and can take care of myself thank you. Now can I buy some oxycodeine and use it when I damn well please???

To: MrLeRoy
I wouldn't know where to buy marijuana.Because you aren't interested in buying it. I don't use it myself, but I can find out where to buy it within 5 minutes if I become interested.
I don't know where to buy a Mercedes either, for the same reason.
PS, are you trying to make the case that drugs are difficult to purchase?

are you trying to make the case that drugs are difficult to purchase?Maybe not "difficult" ... inconvenient, though. Quite a bit easier for me to locate and acquire a six-pack of beer or a pack of cigarettes.

"Proposition 203 also would require the Arizona Department of Health Services to establish and maintain a program for the issuance of registry identification cards to any Arizona resident who is at least eighteen years of age, who pays a fee of $50 and who provides written documentation from the person's attending physician that the person has been diagnosed with a debilitating medical condition and that the medical use of marijuana may mitigate the symptoms or effects of the person's condition."Still like Proposition 203? Got ze papers? Oh my, I didn't know you had AIDS.
