ENDWELL -- A doctor living in Endwell could succeed Saddam Hussein as leader of Iraq.

But if he had his druthers, Dr. Hatem Mukhlis said, he'd just as soon stay here.

Mukhlis is a major figure in an Iraqi organization opposed to Saddam Hussein's regime. Saddam ordered Mukhlis' father killed.

Very true, I just hope he does not change his thinking, If He does come to power and has the right goals in mind for his people.. Any one has to be better then Saddam,as long as he does not become one him self..

It's a nice article, and it sounds as though the good doctor is exactly that - good. I'm afraid I chuckled a bit about his first name, though. "Hatem" sounds like Saddam's creedo to me.

Thanks for the info - both pronunciation and this gentleman's temperament and goals. I always try to listen to how someone says his or her own name before I venture to publicly embarrass myself by mispronouncing.
