I am a Broken Glass  Republican.

We need to be Broken Glass Republicans to prevent the Democrats from stealing the Senate on Nov 5. This was from an old post just before the 2000 election, but is still a great rally cry.

A BG Republican is one who would crawl across Broken Glass to get to the polling place today and cast his vote! Here is the first reference I have found to Broken Glass Republican. Posted on the FreeRepublic.com and here is the post:

At least the Rats make it easy to vote. No crawling over any broken glass. Want to vote early and often? No problem! Come on in. You've got a good 12 or 13 hours to vote as often as you like. Are you deceased? No problem! Dead Rats vote all the time. Convicted felon? No problem! You don't even have to worry about your rights being restored. Illegal alien? No problem! Just ask for the multi-lingual ballot. Too tired after a hard night of partying? No problem! The local Rat election official will stuff the ballot box with your favorite candidate marked. She'll even sign your name for you on the voter list. Geez, isn't it easy being a Rat voter? And so painless.

Yep....I am as well. Not to say they don't piss me off on occasion (guns in the cockpit, RKBA restrictions)...BUT,

THERE IS NO OTHER CHOICE.....except throwing away one's vote.

What has the GOP really given broken glass Republicans in exchange for electing Bush? Has it backed a socially-conservative replacement for Sen. Jesse Helms here in North Carolina? NO - it's made an all-out effort to stick this socially-conservative state with RINO Liddy Dole, even having Bush endorse her before the primary was held. Liddy Dole's 2000 presidential campaign was as liberal as Hillary on social issues - and now, like Hitlery, Liddy Dole is being parachuted into this state she's not lived in for over 40 years.

Bush hasn't even backed arming airline pilots since 9/11 - in spite of overwhelming public support for that. About the sole substantive thing he's done for us on gun issues is to appoint a pro-gun Attorney General and tell the UN to go to hell on gun control.

And what's the use of having Democrat-In-Drag Liddy Dole in Washington - when under two years ago she was talking just like Hitlery in her aborted presidential campaign? Do you really believe Liddy Dole has had the ideological equivalent of a sex change operation since then?

no I don't believe so. Your assesment of her is correct. However, it is more important to regain control of the senate and the judicial nomination process. She is a warm body. BUT she is a republican warm body.
