The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic invites all FReepers and lurkers in good standing to join us Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. until at least 10 a.m. as we freep the former Vice Perpetraitor Al Gore. Here is the announcement from his host, the Brookings Institution:
A Brookings Newsmaker Forum
Al Gore to Deliver Economic Policy Speech at Brookings
Wednesday, October 02, 2002
10a.m - 11 a.m.
Falk Auditorium
The Brookings Institution
1775 Massachusetts Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20036
Washington, D.C.Former Vice President Al Gore will deliver a speech on economic policy issues at the Brookings Institution five weeks before the mid-term congressional and gubernatorial elections.
With this economic policy speech and a recent speech in San Francisco criticizing the Bush administration's policies on the war against terrorism, a possible invasion of Iraq, and other foreign policy issues, Gore will have addressed the principal issues facing voters.
Since the end of the contested 2000 presidential election, Al Gore has taught at Columbia University, Fisk University, and Middle Tennessee State University. He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1976, and in 1984 was elected to U.S. Senate. Before earning the Democratic nomination for president in 2000, he was a candidate for the nomination in 1988.
The Brookings Institution is an independent, nonpartisan research organization that seeks to improve the performance and quality of U.S. public policies. The Institution's activities are carried out through three research programs (Economic Studies, Foreign Policy Studies, and Governance Studies) as well as through the Center for Public Policy Education and the Brookings Institution Press.

We will gather on the sidewalk in front of the Brookings Institution to remind people that Al Gore's economic policy is to cook the books, raise taxes and sellout America's national security.
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect.
Hope to see you there!

We'll be there in spirit, kristinn. Thanks for all you do.

Rest assured, Gore is making this speech to blame every economic problem on President Bush. He'll get lots of coverage, lots of attention, tomorrow's evening news will be in full Kitchen Table Issue mode. Gore is getting the democrats back on track, and they are poised to piggy back on this speech, to get back on track with their long planned attack on President Bush.
I'm so glad you guys will be there tomorrow.
(PS..The market is back up today...Gore will have to re-write that part of his speech.

Isn't Bush making an economic speech tomorrow too? About an hour or two earlier than Goron?

I wish I could be there tomorrow morning, but we're woefully understaffed at work... and I have to take off on Thursday for a family thing.
Let me make a prediction of what's going to happen tomorrow morning... AlGore will give his usual energizing, riveting, truth-filled presentation (NOT!)... and the attendees will be so moved by it that they will leave the Brookings Inst. building en masse and join you guys on the street!
I mean, you're a much more happenin' group than Algore's crew.
Rock the house tomorrow, guys! I'll miss the heck out of you. But I'll see y'all on the 9th!

Awwwww....geez! Kristinn, why'd ya' hafta go'n say that, huh?
That mind's-eye picture is gonna give me nightmares...
Now, who's making that into a sign? If I have to suffer with that image burned into my brain, I think everyone who goes to listen to that Goron should also suffer similarly.

"At the same time, the New Jersey Supreme Court will be hearing the 'Rats whining about the unfairness of it all."
'xactly. Why is that Democrats have such trouble reading election laws?
She who *has* to work Wednesday, but wouldn't be afraid of this one,
