CNBC and MSNBC ^ | Sept. 30, 2002 | Brian Williams

A just heard this at the top of the program, I wish it was a joke but he was serious.

Is this is what we are going to have to deal with for the next month?

The Torch had best beware! It seems the only way to get his name removed from the ballot is if he dies. Looks like another plane crash ala Ron Brown is in order to save the Rat's A$$es.

GOP state committee in NJ should "draft" a new RAT candidate each day -- Madonna, Pee Wee Herman, Alec Baldwin, etc etc

My candidate to replace Torricelli on the Dem ticket is the Poet Laureate of New Jersey, Imamu Amiri Baraka (formerly Leroi Jones) because he would be certain to lose.

Your point is, I believe, that people will do anything to get out of New Jersey?

Believe it or not, Bruce Springsteen was once New Jersey high school champion in Extemporaneous Speaking, so at one point he was a nerd deeply involved in Public Policy (Extemp is giving a 7 minute speech, after 30 minutes of preparation, on a question of Politics, such as "Should the United States Invade Iraq?" or "Shoud the Fed Cut Interest Rates"). You maintain and drag around with you an enormous file of magazine and newspaper clippings, and you memorize and cite your sources during the speech.

They don't care. The Dims would run a ham sandwich if it would give them 51 with a D after their name. They crave the power of committee chairmanships. Period.

Believe it or not, I had Mr. Baraka as a creative writing professor at Rutgers. It is like this man has two personalities since I, a white person, spent time talking to him during and after class and the man I remember bears little resemblance to the man I see in newpaper articles. While he certainly does focus on race and has the obligatory left-wing views on a lot of things, I never got the impression that he thought less of me for being white. And he has a brilliant sense of story beyond that of any other writing professor that I met at Rutgers.

Would I want him in the Senate representing me? No. Do I want him setting public policy? No. I simply want to say that he's a far more decent person than you might think and he is actually likable if you sit and talk to him, outside of the limelight and away from a crowd that he has to play to.

You should see if JimRob can somehow incorporate some type of software program that allows your posts to each other be subtitled in such a way that everybody else can know what you're talking about.
