Please Join the NJ Pro-Life Community on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at 1 p.m. as We Stand In Solidarity with The Congressional Majority and President Bush in Calling for An End to Partial Birth Abortions

On Thursday, June 5, members of the Pro-Life Community will peacefully gather at  1 p.m. across the street from the Metropolitan Medical Center in Englewood, NJ while the U. S. Congress takes up the debate on Partial Birth Abortion.  Directions to Metropolitan are included below.  The US Senate has already passed a ban and President Bush said he will sign it.

We are horrified and disgusted that both New Jersey’s U.S. Senators Lautenberg and Corzine voted to keep this brutal form of infanticide legal in NJ.  We thank members of the NJ Congressional delegation who have repeatedly stood with President Bush and the people of NJ and voted to ban partial birth abortion in the past.  We call on every  member of the NJ Congressional Delegation to say “No”  to Partial Birth Abortion when it comes up for a vote this week by casting a vote in favor of H.R. 760, The Partial Birth Abortion Ban.

Please go to our website for more information http://www.njrtl.org/05312003Action.php.

The partial birth abortion debate was changed in the United States when a September 15, 1996  Bergen Record  story broke the news from an interview that the Metropolitan Medical Center in Englewood, NJ performs 1500 Partial Birth Abortions a year. (4 times a day).  It went from being a very rare occasion to a very common occurrence.  The vote in the US Senate changed when many legislators including US Senator Patrick Moynihan (D-NY), switched their votes to support the Ban on PBA calling it infanticide.

The Alan Guttmacher Institute has tripled their original estimates to 2200 times a year Nationwide.  Doctors at Metropolitan Medical Associates stated that at least 1,500 are performed each year, with most performed on “healthy mothers of healthy babies.”

If these statistics are correct, New Jersey is responsible for performing an astronomical number of all Partial Birth Abortions in America in just one clinic alone.

Partial Birth Abortion is a cruel, horrific crime against innocent children and should never be tolerated in a civilized society.  We will not sit idly by while women are maimed and their children brutalized in the guise of "health care."    Please join us as we call for an end to partial birth abortion.

The following are the views of "NJ" Senator Jon Corzine regarding his vote against the "Partial Birth Abortion Ban."

Thank You for contacting me about a medical procedure refered to as "Partial Birth Abortion".. I know that many individuals hold strong religious and personal beliefs on this matter, and appreciate the opportunity to learn your views..

As you may know, on March 13, 2003, the Senate passed the "Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003(S.3).. Until now, Congress has never sought to ban a medical procedure.. I believe that doing so interferes with the doctor-patient relationship.. A medical decision of such severity should be made privately after discussion between a woman, her physician, and her family..

Additionally, while I understand the genuine concerns of many advocates for this legislation, the language of the bill actually goes well beyond a ban on late term abortions.. In fact, it's real effect would be to deny a woman's access to abortion procedures at all stages of pregnency, even when a woman's life and health are in danger.. For all these reasons, I choose to vote against passage of this bill.. In my opinion, the issue of abortion is one of personal conscience, derived from an individual's moral and religious views, medical needs, and ability to take on the responsibilities of parenthood..

Again, thank you for contacting me.. I value your perspective and opinions and hope that you will not hesitate to contact me in the future.. Jon Corzine (NJ)

"Reverend Reggie White, NFL Legend and Member of the NFL Hall of Fame"

"Troy Vinson, NFL Philadelphia Eagle and CEO of Eltekon Holdings"

Wow, I knew Reggie White was a conservative, but Troy Vincent?

Now I will have to hate the Eagles a little less! (Still love the Packers.)

Generally, it seems that professional athletes are more conservative and more Republican than most.

RE: Poritz Nomination
PLEASECOPY &  SEND THE BELOW TO SENTATOR Hank McNamara at his office address and to your Senator too.

SenMcNamara@njleg.org
http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/members/legsearch.asp

Chief Justice of the NJ Supreme Court, Deborah Poritz has come down on the wrong side of one issue after another:

parental notification, remember:  the NJ legislature in a bipartisan vote passed legislation to require parental notification before an abortion.  When a lawsuit was filed against the legislature, Justice Poritz ruled that it was unconstitutional to require a minor girl to notify her parents of her impending abortion!] In every state where parental notification has gone into effect, abortions have come down.

Gay men in scouting leadership (Jim Dale vs. Boy Scouts of America).  It took the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Justice Poritz's decision allowing Jim Dale to remain a scout leader.

Allowing Lautenberg to replace Torricelli AFTER the time deadline had passed. Chief Justice Poritz literally ruled against NJ standing statute!  These are only a few glaring examples.

This is your opportunity to weigh in with a call to your state Senator.  Please do so ASAP, as this can be voted on within one week.

Though initially her nomination seemed secure, we now find that Senator Nia Gill (an African-American woman) is greatly "troubled" by Justice Poritz's handling of the racial profiling issue.  Senator Gill sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee and voted NO on Monday.  If she carries her sentiments to enough democrats, it can shift the needed votes.

We have a chance to turn the tide.  Please circulate this to your friends who can likewise make that important difference.

New Jersey Coalition to Preserve and Protect Marriage
Trenton, New Jersey

We must mobilize to …

Protect Marriage!
one man married to one woman.

Leading pro- family organizations in New Jersey have combined forces to form the:

NJ Coalition to Preserve and Protect Marriage

American Family Association, Christian Coalition, Council on the American Family, Constitution Party, Defend Marriage NJ, League of American Families, NJ Coalition for Traditional Marriage, NJ Family Policy Council and Protecting Marriage, Inc.

Purpose: To educate and equip every citizen with the ability to help preserve and protect marriage.

What is at stake? God-ordained marriage is the stabilizing influence in all cultures. What common sense would suggest has been clearly put forth in a warning from Professor Sorokin, past chairman of the sociology department at Harvard University. Upon comprehensive study of all the cultures spanning a period of over 2,000 years, he confirmed that once the primacy of marriage – one man, one woman - was no longer codified in laws and public policy, it spelled the disintegration of the family and the eventual destruction of that society...without exception.

Timing: Very little time remains. Major court rulings on the status of traditional marriage have already been rendered. Belgium, the Netherlands and even Canada have already legalized same-sex marriage. This summer the U.S. Supreme Court rendered a deplorable decision in Texas vs. Lawrence condoning sodomy, which opens the door to same-sex marriage in New Jersey. The Massachusetts Supreme Court is about to render their decision as to whether same-sex couples will have a constitutional right to marry. In New Jersey seven same-sex "couples" are suing for the right to "marry".

What Can We Do? PRAY, PLAN, PERFORM and PERSEVERE

Learn the truth and major talking poin
Learn how to speak to friends and neighbors
Learn how to communicate with and educate your elected state representatives

· Encourage all people of faith to register to vote. You can do so by visiting www.njelections.org , download a voter registration form, and mail it into your county clerk’s office.
· Find out who your elected state legislators are. Do so by calling legislative services at 1-800-792-8630, or by going to website: http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/districts/njmap210.html
and clicking on your town on the map.
· Call all three of your elected representatives, and ask the following questions:

1. I am __________________ and live in ________ (your town). I am a registered voter, and I am calling with the express purpose of asking you two questions:

a. What is your position on preserving the definition of marriage as a legal and most often a religious contract between one man and one woman?

b. (For Senator) As you know, there has been a bill introduced in the Senate, number 1047, which would amend current New Jersey statutes so that "persons of the same sex shall not marry". The bill further provides that same-sex marriages performed in other states would be considered void in New Jersey. What is your position on that legislation?

c. (For members of the Assembly) As you know, there has been a bill introduced in the Assembly, number 1765, which would amend current New Jersey statutes so that "persons of the same sex shall not marry". The bill further provides that same-sex marriages performed in other states would be considered void in New Jersey. What is your position on that legislation?

2. I want to register my support for preserving traditional marriage as being between one man and one woman. Thank you for your time

· Record the responses of your legislator and contact the NJ Coalition to Preserve and Protect Marriage to inform us of the results. Fax response to 973-543-1092.

· Provide the NJCPPM with your contact information (name, mailing address, phone, & email)

Candlelight ALL SOULS Prayer Vigil at Englewood Abortion Mill
Sponsored by the Rose Garden Home

The Nuns have over 150 saves from Good Friday of 2002 to today!!   From what I was told 4 partial-birth abortions are performed there each week; it's #1 in NJ.

A candlelight prayer vigil will be held Sunday evening, November 2 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.at the Englewood Abortion Mill.

We are planning to have a candlelight prayer vigil for the babies who were lost at the Metropolitan Medical Clinic,  40 Engle Street, Englewood, New Jersey 07631.  The vigil will start at 7PM and will end in about an hour.  Please bring rosaries and a candle if you can.  We are here to pray for our departed brothers and sisters in Christ.  Members of all faiths are invited to attendPlease don't call the Abortion Mill for directions (www.mapquest.com )or questions, call the sisters at the Rose Garden Home (www.rosegardenhome.org ) for further information.

All Souls Day
