NC Free Republic Chapter Meeting Scheduled OCT 1st
http://users.max.inter.net/~oldnorthstatefr/ ^ | Sept. 27,2002 | mykdsmom and Constitution Day

Posted on 09/27/2002 3:03:25 PM PDT by mykdsmom

Ok, all of the NC FReepers, Lurkers, NC FReeper wanna be's listen up. We have set a meeting place and time for regular monthly meetings. Our next meeting is next Tuesday October 1st. I hope we can get a large group of us together so we can accomplish some great things in our state. God knows there is a LOT to be accomplished.

I spoke to the owner of Tir na nÓg and he is a staunch conservative and is happy to let us use his meeting room for free. The room will be on your right as you come through the front door, it's near the bar : ). Of course he'd like for us to buy food and drinks, he is running a business after all.

I can't vouch for their food but they have a GREAT beer selection. Personally I plan on eating my dinner during the meeting to give him the business.

You will find a sample menu and directions by clicking on the link to their web site below. Please give me some response on this thread if you plan on coming or not. In fact, even if you can't make it do us a favor and bump it up.

I'd also like to introduce all of you to our new, NC website, thanks to the hard work of callisto.

I'd really like to see some enthusiasm from the NC FReepers. Let's not be couch potato FReepers, get involved in your state politics. We have a LOT of work to do and it can't all be done sitting at a computer keyboard. Oh and we'll have a lot of fun too.

Any suggestions for discussions or projects for meetings will be appreciated too. Tell Constitution Day and I what YOU want to achieve from YOUR local chapter.

The place:
Tir na nÓg Irish Pub
218 S. Blount St., Raleigh.
(919) 833-7795 http://www.tnnpub.com

The date & time:
First Tuesday of every month, 7:00 PM.

Next two meetings:
October 1, November 5 (**Election night**).

I will find out tonight!

I have had both (at Mr. Dunderbak's, I believe). They're excellent.

Do they serve Murphy's or Beamish there?

Don't know, I remember seeing Guinness of course but I do believe they have a very good selection of Irish draft.

I'll have to get back to you on this one hoi-polloi. If they do we'll be sure to raise one and toast to you ; )

We had a good meeting last night. Even a better turn out than expected because a lurker and a FReeper that hadn't told us he would be there showed up.

The people that were there were Constitution Day, mykdsmom, overtaxed, billbears, JEC, blackbag, freepy smurf, and a lurker who promised he'd register last night when he got home.

We are going to have a GREAT and exciting meeting on November 5th, election night. Join us to watch the Republicans retake control of the Senate. We have access to a TV with a satellite hook up to watch the results.

Tir na Nog's owner Greg came in and met all of us last night and said he was SO happy to have us there using his room. He's a conservative and if you've never been there. Tir na Nog is an authentic Irish Pub with pretty good food and authentic pints of beer.

I hope we have a really good turn out for next months meeting.

I'll go if they have a TV in the meeting room. Election night returns are going to be a blast...
