It is amazing that the Democrats could run a State as rich as California into the ground in such a short time. Only a few years ago, they had SURPLUS money, and now they are going to the equivalent of the local loanshark to pay current operating expenses.
What a bunch of maroons!

Borrowing $12.5 billion to pay off the
$7.5 billion borrowed only 3 months ago?
Or is this to pay back the money Davis borrowed from CalPERS, the Teachers Retirement Fund, the pop-bottle fund, the dentist retirement fund, and the highway trust funds?

But the rats have an answer. They just stripped off the gun manufacturers immunity. An avalanche of money from law suits against the evil gun makers will soon come rolling in.

The entire gun industry in the US is well under a 2 billion dollar business. That is why all of the other efforts have pretty much fizzled, the lawyers can not get paid enough for their efforts.
I think California has a constitutional requirement that the legislature provide a balanced budget every year.
The lawsuits need to go against the dims for their corrupt spending practices!

Right. I was being sarcastic in #6. If the dims concentrated on the economy (as in real economic growth by encouraging business), as much as they have been hell-bent (excuse my French) on gun laws, California would be in much better fiscal shape.
It's almost like California has been infected with "political AIDS." Our immune system of protection is being weakened and we are under attack and can't get rid of the infections. It will kill us, slowly but surely.

So, the budget that was passed about a month ago is off by at least $3 billion of red ink.
The train wreck wasn't supposed to start happening until AFTER the election, or at least that was the plan...

Someplace I saw a report that the cumulative deficits of the 50 States is something like $30 billion... according to this report, California represents about $24 billion of that total (btw, Maryland, after decades of Demo domination, now has annual deficit of something like $1.3 billion). Pretty amazing that CA floats along with the apparent re-election of this horrible governor just around the corner. Good luck to you Simon supporters.

the lawyers can not get paid enough for their efforts. They could get paid plenty. But the slimy type of legal sleezebags are too greedy to go after such a pittance of only $2 billion.
The state of Cali is Fornicated.

California represented $24 billion of that. This means that California's budget deficit was more than all other 49 states combined.
