September 21, 2002 Report challenges governors' splurges in spending Jeb one of few called fiscally responsible By Gannett News Service |
Guess which headline ended up on the front page of Florida Capital News, the election news link to Fla. Gannett-owned "hometown" paper websites, i.e. Ft. Myers News-Press?Incidentally, Jeb Rates an "A".
The Gannett News Service version of Stephen Moore's WSJ article has this to say about Governor Bush:
Two Re-publican governors Floridas Jeb Bush and Colorados Bill Owens got As.
That's it. The Florida political news website didn't include a paragraph of detailed kudos for our Gov. from the original WSJ article, but we can cut them some slack because only the WSJ subscriber side is carrying it today. Last week the Republican Party of Florida, ran it and of course a Freeper, windchime, posted it: JEB Gets An "A" (Wall Street Journal), FR thread.
***Jeb Bush of Florida is the real tax-cutting fiscal conservative in the family. In a state with no income tax, Gov. Bush has cut the Florida property tax by $1 billion, and in 2001 he cut the business intangible tax by another $600 million. Earlier this year he took the unusual step of walking the halls of the Capitol himself asking members of both parties to oppose a sales tax hike sponsored by members of his own party. Mr. Bush has also distinguished himself by promoting one of the most innovative choice-based school reforms in the nation -- a plan that allows students in failing schools to go to any public or private school of their choice -- and by enacting tort reform legislation fiercely opposed by the trial lawyers.
E-mail the Gannett Fla. bureau contacts:
e-mail links here, and tell them the headline disses our Gov. when OUR Gov. deserves a positively glowing headline for the truth in the original article.
You might ask them where they found such an ugly picture of our good-looking Governor, and whether their McBride pic. came from "Glamour Shots".

Gov. Jeb Bush,
Republican

Bill McBride,
Democrat

Thank you so much for the Freep and bumps! Not much interest with all the Daschle meltdown news. The website's up until election day - with the ugly photo - so maybe tomorrow...(^:

They must have looked long and hard for that photo!
Actually, this story ties into the Daschle story because it is misleading information from a news source that Daschle used as a basis for his tirade.

Every Floridian with a Gannett-owned local paper will click onto that website if they're searching for political news...and see that picture. We can at least forward a few good pictures of Jeb.
Did you check out the website? They turned Jeb's "A+" perfomance (according to their own linked article) as Gov. into an apparent smear with one misleading front page headline.
On the positive side, they didn't print the fake McBride-DNC "the race is close" poll story, and the American Prowler printed my letter: Citric Acid (not my title). (^:

Thanks, Ragtime. I love freeper endorsements. As you probably figured out, LOL, my entire Jeb Photo Pit Stop series is on my profile page. October will be a "Best Of". You can add your favorites too. I couldn't believe it. I was shopping at thrift stores today with my mom and this senior saw my Jeb and Crist badges (home made). She asked what "Jeb" meant of all things. I told her that was Governor Bush. I showed her my Crist badge and she said "He'll do a great job for education." There was no point in telling her that he already was the Commissioner of Education and was running for Attorney General.
Homemade Avery Badges with big stick on letters are better than the real campaign buttons because THEY ARE EASIER TO READ.
I got a Jeb discount again today as a matter of fact. I get a lot of extra discounts when people see my Jeb badge. I call them Jeb discounts. It's been going on since early summer.
Except for the lady today, I think everyone else knows who Jeb is. Lucky me to find the one person in the State who didn't know what Jeb meant.

Since the dems' base is eroding, they not only are assisted by the media but they are conspiring with the media to try to bring the President's favorables down. IMO, the only favorables going down will be Daschle's and other Daschle democrats. He literally sounded like Linda Blair from The Exorcist. And based on the Washington Compost.
You get what you deserve when you try to set up a popular president. Just desserts, Daschle!
