HARTFORD, Conn. -- Erskine Bowles, a North Carolina candidate for the U.S. Senate, has been named in a lawsuit filed by Connecticut officials seeking to reclaim more than $120 million of lost state pension funds.
The lawsuit, originally filed in February, was amended Monday to add two more defendants, including Bowles. The lawsuit accuses New York investment firm Forstmann Little of making investments not permitted in its contract with the state.

So who did you vote for in the NC primary?
Which NC Senate candidate did you work for?
Which NC precinct did you work at?
Have you been to Raleigh? Salisbury?
Did you study NC state history in the 7th grade like we did?
Are you one of those who will vote for Toricelli because you don't want Lott to be Majority Leader?
Just wondering Jersey boy.

Whoa ... I've been to Raleigh, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Fayetteville. I have family there -- brothers, sisters, an uncle (now deceased) -- my wife has familiy there too. I and don't live in Jersey either, so guess again.
There isn't a Senator out of the full hundred that voted to ignore Clinton's crimes in the impeachement that I trust, and Lott particularly for setting up that vote.
But it's folly not to vote this GOP line in this election, if not the next as well, I agree, although I hate being a numbnuts party line voter. We need the Senate's Judiciary committe and we need a party to support the President in the war efforts.

Watching Ken Burns' 'The Civil War' on PBS while whacked out meds makes for some pretty wierd posts.

I guess at least you can tell everybody:
"Hey, I voted for Foreskin Bowels because I believe in principle!"

The demoncrats ran the South for a hundred years thanks to GOP carpetbaggers and gee golly wally if Mrs. Dole ain't yet another -- carpetbagger, that is.
Now, me, I'm a northerner ... and I'd have been on the front lines with cannons full of grape shot to mow down those lads in grey -- so as to abolish slavery and preserve the union.
I've been to Raleigh, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Fayetteville.
I DARE you to say that in a loud voice in a Wal-Mart in ANY of the NC locations you mentioned...
Stay up there Bluebelly. I'll be damned if I'll listen to the likes of you lecturing us on 'carpetbaggers.'
Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha

Are you not aware that Liddy Dole is actually from N.C.? The fact that she married a successful politcian and war hero took her away fron there. She simply returned. Quite a bit different from Hillary's migration.

Well, you don't know me enough to say such a thing as you ask is beyond me, I'm not as afraid of an enraged mob as most people might be. Yet this particular thing I wouldn't do, Wal-Mart not being a good forum for the raising and vibrant discussion of ideas.
An you're right --in the end I'm not a Tarheel -- it's your state, and all you all pick who you want.
You had a primary -- beltway Dole won it. Tough noogies to Darth Sidious on that ... but not to him for expressing an opinion.

Hillary went to Vassar. That's in NY -- near Hyde Park where FDR lived. So yes, even Hillary lived in NY.

You argue in circles.

I dare you to say that in an Ann Taylor store down here. I believe our WOMEN could teach you a needed lesson in respect. No enraged mob necessary to thump a lone Bluebelly.
Before you start dreamily wishing you could 'mow down the lads in Grey' you ought to know that NC lost more of our boys in 'That Recent Unpleasantness' than any other state.
And we choose to remember them with the proper solemn reverence they deserve. God rest their Souls.

I argue that busting on the now banned Darth Sidious for posting an *opinion* that is un-PC in these parts these days is like spitting on graves for disrespect.
I'm noteing that I also disagree with his opinion and think it folly, but I ain't calling him names as a means of discussion, especially when he can't answer.
If you find that a circle, then I'm stumped -- hard to make it more plain and simple.

The men and women of North Carolina, history have shown a remarkable pioneering gumption. I'd never slight their memory. But my like my own great-great-granddad in that War between States, I'd be at the cannons of the NY State regiment that opposed Pickett's Charge.

He's only banned until the day after the election.

My apologies if I've hurt your feelings.
Your previous post sounded like you were picking up where Darth left off.
My 'guess' of Jersey came from your own home page. In fact it made me wonder if you had gone to the University of Jersey at Duke. Assuming you are not from Jersey the other choices from your 'clue' is either PA or the Delaware River.
Lott is not my pick either for Majority Leader if, er when, we win back the Senate. I was referring to some threads that have prominent Dems, LIEberman most recently, saying a vote for the Torch is a vote against Lott (meaning a Pub majority). If the Dems can vote for such damaged, corrupt goods as Toricelli, I think NC republicans should have no problem pulling the lever for Liddy.
Bottom line, your 'carpetbagger' comments are neither accurate, nor appreciated. Liddy has plenty of roots here in NC, and most of us welcome back one of our own. Those of faith in NC are ready to welcome back a prodigal daughter. Compared to the whore of Chappaquidick or the Kennedys, Liddy is a homegrown, if not stay at home, treat.
One can't blame her for standing by her man. Edwards doesn't even take the time to come home any more, spending his free time in NH and Iowa.
If Liddy, the state and national GOP had not inserted her into this race, Bowels would be on free ride at this point.
Stay well.
