After watching this speech today (listening mostly while I typed) and hearing Pat Buchanan et al blathering on about Gore's speech being powerful and important and what not - I have determined that Pat Buchanan is no irrelevant. There is NO mention of this speech on MSNBC's home page, nor Fox's, nor CNN's. For such an important speech it's getting less air time than Mrs. Toogood.

Is this the new Algore (Ver 8.7) ? Al Gore (Ver8.7):
- Dark blue suit
- Flop-sweat medium-blue shirt (do not remove suit coat under any circumstance)
- Weird hank of hair hanging over one eyebrow, a version of the "Superman" curl ??
- Complexion a bit pasty (room lighting was not top notch)
- Still packing on quite a few extra pounds
- Southern Drawl is trotted out from time to time in the speech, maybe to show his "folksy" side ??
- Emotionless delivery, dull voice, lots of pauses and repeats

No surprise from pat Buchanan... he has become an isolationist for years. His old boss Richard Nixon is spinning in his grave.

I'll sure try! It's on at 5:30 am my time!!! I certainly hope to be up to hear this. I want to knock gore down as soon as possible! He's a nutcase that the liberals love. I couldn't believe the orgasm MSNBC had over him. This is the crap we're up against.

Gore is a twit.

Is a blue suit the new garb for the alpha male ?
To: All
"We should focus first and foremost on our top priority -- winning the war against terrorism."
THEN GET OUT OF THE WAY AL!
"If you are going after Jesse James you ought to organize the posse first"
WHAT DO YOU THINK WE HAVE BEEN DOING DIPSTICK!
To: Doc Savage
Gore should launch a pre-emptive strike to knee-cap these two rectal cavities an excellent turn of phrase !

I think the "Alpha-Male" neutrals went out of fashion for ol' Al, he quit using that "version" about the same time as the "airbrushed & enhanced" Rolling Stone (???) magazine cover came out

Al's more irrelevant than the UN...and that's pretty irrelevant. Good answer. (^:
This is how I see Gore:
Writing in the Washington Post, June 29, 2002- Eyad Sarraj of the Palestinian Independent Commission for Citizens' Rights makes clear how much of a departure Bush's embrace of democracy is from the Clinton administration:
One of my earliest and greatest shocks was when U.S. Vice President Al Gore, during a mid-1990s visit to Jericho, publicly approved the establishment of military courts by the Palestinian Authority. These courts have sentenced people to death in summary trials where the accused have no attorney and no right to appeal. In 1996, I dared to say that the regime was corrupt and oppressive. For this, I was arrested, beaten and thrown into solitary confinement.

Gore Speech - I WAS THERE!
I haven't seen the news coverage and I want to know if they edited me out. During the Q&A part I got up and interrupted him and made a statement, "We are more afraid of Bush than Saddam." He responded that perhaps I was joking and I said, "No - I am not joking. We are more afraid of Bush than Saddam." He got very nervous and basically said something like "we can't go there".
I was just wondering if that got censored out.
As to Gore's speech - I was uninspired. He did say more that I agreed with that I expected - but equivacated as to what to do. I was hoping for a strong firm statement of opposition. Basically what I hear was he supported the war - but should wait for more support.
