You know absolutely nothing. My ex-roomate from college smokes about 4 or 5 joints a day. He is an accomplished musician, produces and arranges music for films, teaches music, reads, writes, produces intricate woodwork for restorations (dangerous work), waxes philosophical on a range of political topics, neither receives or asks for anything from his government or neighbors and leads a normal life in every way. How about you?

There probably isn't any, but dying pain free and dying a death with escrutiating pain are not difficult to choose. Morphine, which is legal is much more powerful drug than pot. If pot works better, so be it.

Well, what do you have in mind? How does one live like a free man when the Feds have Everything "wired" for themselves? The federal Courts, IRS, FBI,NSA and other helper agencies intend to keep it that way.

The federal government, as a centeralized power, is a more terrifying potential (some would drop the "potential")tyrant than the King of England could have ever been. Its either "get over it and get used to it" (the South has had to do that since 1865) or "live like a man" whatever that means. We can all try to elect people who believe in personal freedom and see the value of true federalism, but I don't think there's much chance in the near future. Afterall, the US re-elected Klintoon, and NY elected his wife as senator.

I will answer your red-herring question. I am against legalizing pot. Period. It is silly, stupid, and childish for anyone to suggest that legalizing pot will improve the life of those dying...it is silly for anyone to suggest otherwise...and it is dishonest as well, because (alhtough you don't care about the truth, as you say, "Why should I care"), the truth is that many of those leading the charge are dope smoking drains on society....and there are so many ADULT issues in this world to be concerned about, but the BRAVE LP is leading the CHARGE for legal dope.

I truly wish the FDA would put marijuana through the normal battery of tests, then legalize it (or not) based on those tests for medical use. Medical marijuana would be no different from any other prescription that has to be tightly controlled.

While I do realize the sarcasm in your post, cocaine is still being used as a localized painkiller by medical professionals.
Mind you I know this through my father, who works in a hospital as a pharmacist. They even caught one guy stealing the goods from the medicine cabinet...

They were not red herrings but logical followups to your statement. And you STILL have NOT answered them: So what if "we already have legal pain drugs for those who are dying"? Would you place an upper limit on the number of different drugs that should be legal for treating pain? Why?Would you place the same limit on drugs for treating, say, allergies?

Do you believe marijuana should be available legally as a treatment for menstrual cramps?

I have no problem with people who believe marijuana should be legal. I just that believe the medical marijuana crowd is hiding being seriously ill people to gain the legal right to sell the pot they grow or import to the highest bidder.
