With most of the world living under dictatorships, the U.N. is -- in essence -- a dictator protection society.

Bush's U.N. speech -- proving to the entire world that the U.N. is "irrelevant" -- is a master stroke for world-wide freedom from dictators.

"He supports an International Criminal Court, which could arrest and imprison Americans"

Hum... I don't really think Annan is wrong on this one. Why American citizen and soldiers should be above international law? Just look at those assh..les who blasted a dozen Canadians against a hold requested from the AWAC command. If we want to remain respected and credible, let's show our force when necessary (such as in Irak, but also elsewhere) but with honor. Otherwise, we would turn into an imperialist country of the worst kind.

I'm sure the Arabs slipped some more money into Kofi's Swiss Bank accounts for this favor. I'm also sure this Ghanian stumble bum can be blackmailed.

It appears that the UN is failing its test, even after a strong speech by Bush. Do not tolerate mediocracy, especially when it comes to the vital art of diplomacy.

My guess is that Bush will continue with the war and let the UN bluster. Doing so, he might as well encourage more slashing of UN dues. Why bother paying them so much?

"In an effort to undercut President Bush´s policy on Iraq, U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan participated in the drafting of Saddam´s phony offer to allow "unconditional" U.N. inspections."

So, what? We're going to do what we're going to do, whether the UN wants to come along for the ride, or not.

Bush gave them a chance to prove they were capable of acting and doing the right thing. If they demonstrate otherwise, they simply seal their own irrelevance.

Get the United Nations out of the United States NOW! And send Kofi back to Africa where he belongs. Those countries have enough problems for two lifetimes. None of them can even govern themselves for cryin' out loud.

Yet we have to put up with this nobody telling this country what we should do. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!!!

Annan and the UN would have to improve to be useless.
