From the 84 WHAS newsroom...
(Louisville, KY) -- Governor Patton is facing some explosive allegations...he's finding himself at the center of a sex scandal. WHAS 11 TV broke the story Tuesday night, reporting that Tina Conner, a businesswoman and nursing home operator out of Western Kentucky (Clinton), says she had a 2-year affair with the Governor. The allegations go even further though. Conner says that when she tried to break off that relationship, the governor tried to shut down her nursing home. The state found numerous violations at Birchtree Healthcare during an inspection last year. Birchtree has since filed for bankruptcy. Connor goes even further to say she fears for her safety. She tells WHAS 11's Mark Hebert that she believes Governor Patton would, indeed, order a hit on her. Governor Patton says he is "shocked and horrified" by the allegations. He says he died not have sexual relations with Conner. He says the accusations are "acts of desperation" from a nursing home operator whose facility is facing bankruptcy. Conner says Governor Patton first approached her following a political fundraiser for Tom Barlow in 1997. She says a 2-year affair followed. She says she and the governor met several times for encounters at a Louisville hotel on Hurstbourne Lane...always at 7am and sometimes staying as long as five hours. She says the State Police officers working security for the governor would wait outside the hotel. Conner is also a member of the Kentucky State Lottery Board. She was appointed to the board in 2000. Conner says Patton was trying to get her to Louisville more in hopes of more sexual encounters.
This is only left out around newsroom water coolers.
Clinton Woman in Sex Scandal With Politician
Hey what's good ol' Jerry Abramson up to now? *L*
Can't say I'm surprised about Patton though. First time I saw him I didn't like him. Pretty much the same 'read' as X42.
It is his personal life. Leave him alone. Sarcasm.
Well, a reporter did ask him about it once...
Yes. I believe that's where their brains are located. That's why their policies are so bazzar.
How can I put this discretely?
$$$$$$$...
Giving the devil his due,Sam Donaldson actually shouted,"Mr.President! Is it true you raped Juanita Broderick?" TWICE at Bubba-1,as he,Bubbette!,and Bubbette!Jr was all walking towards the WH helicopter. This is back when they were all holding hands everywhere they went, pretending to be a acutal family, and Bubba-1 wasn't holding press conferences or talking to ANY reporters. ABC "news" must have cracked down on Donaldson, because he never again asked after the second time.
Be glad to.
The Louisville Courier Journal is VERY pro-Steve Henry. As far as they are concerned, he IS the next governor. That's the way it has worked in Kentucky for at least 20 years. Whoever was Lt. Governor has gone on to become Governor:
Collins/Wilkinson --> Wilkinson/Jones --> Jones/Patton --> Patton/Henry
And the judges in Kentucky, though officially "non partisan," ought as well have a big "D" next to most of their names. Hell, as I posted a few minutes ago, on the original Patton Sex-For-Favors Scandal thread, we haven't had a Republican Governor here in over 30 years, so who do you think makes the appointments to judicial vacancies? And the state is still overwhelmingly registered Democrat (althought I must give the people credit for voting much more conservative than just ten years ago).
Yes, politics is very dirty and very ugly in the Bluegrass State.
On to the Steve Henry wedding to the former Miss America. The wedding itself was a controversial, tasteless event. I didn't see the invitations myself, but a friend of mine who did said that it was basically a Democratic Party of Kentucky fundraiser, and that one had to make a contribution to Democrats to attend the wedding.
Prior to Henry's controversial wedding, he himself was acting very Clintonesque. A few years back, it was reported that Henry, then a bachelor, was using state funds to take care of different women he was seeing, women who were married to their husbands at the time! I had a heckling and arguing session with Henry at the Kentucky State Fair that particular year, and I was asking him how his tax-paid affairs were going. Of course, guess what? That particular story was in the paper and on the news for no more than one day when it disappeared altogether.
I will see what else I can come up with via research for you all. Now its time for my lunch, and I feel like my blood pressure must be sky-high after rehashing some wonderful Kentucky politics for those not in the know. :>
And, to Severa, who asked about Jerry Abramson:
he is getting ready to cakewalk his way in November to becoming the first "super-mayor" of the merged Louisville/Jefferson County. Uggghh!
How's that whole merger thing going anyway?
More likely the corn whisky made in them thar hills..........
