Iraq says it will allow U.N. weapons inspectors to immediately return to the country without conditions, but a senior U.S. official discounted the announcement, saying "we do not take what Saddam says at face value."

Word that Iraq would allow inspections to resume came Monday in a letter delivered to U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan. Iraqi Foreign Minister Naji Sabri delivered the letter in a meeting with Annan and the secretary-general of the Arab League, Amr Moussa.

Here's what the next UN resolution should be:

If, upon inspection, weapons of mass destruction are found, Iraq shall be found in violation of the UN resolutions and the governing regime shall be immediately ousted; peacefully or forcefully, Iraq's choice.

Jim Jones, of People's Temple fame was no conservative.
He was one of yours, a flaming radical leftist divorced
from reality. All those kool-aid drinkers were little
utopian seguets, going off the cliffs like the idealogical
lemmings they are.

"But Now It's all about Saddam... Not a War against Iraq but Saddam.. It's all about him now, and he is scared Sh$tless..."

And that is a mistake that the Bush Administration should not make again. An entire military action or war should never be based upon the fate of one man. It will open up a Pandora's Box of trouble.

However the actual drafting has yet to begin -- some diplomats tell CNN they don't expect pens to be put to paper until later this week -- with a final draft ready by month's end.

A two-week delay to turn gaseous bullsh!t into text bullsh!t.

And when the rubber meets the road, Saddam's monkeys get in the way of every step.

The only effective inspection is Bomb Damage Assessment.

Pretty obvious Saddom is trying to buy time and stall in order to obtain the nuclear weapons and blackmail. He'll do it in an underhanded way in passing them off to terrorists to enter the USA or whatever. Iraq is playing games yet again and it's obvious. Everything's supposed to be all lovey dovey and Kofi Annan thinks he's so great after years of letting Saddom play games? It's a stalling ploy and he needs to be taken down. I will say it's amusing how President Bush has truly struck fear into the terrorist tyrant scums of the world. Did you see Saddom's face? It's a tough administration and they aren't going to get away with anything. They're just hoping to ride this administration out and have a softy Demonrat in office.

"What is important here that he doesn't do it to himself."

Don't worry - he will.

Wishful thinking. BTW, didn't Gore win?

Usama's on the lam...perhaps in a jar...but Saddam's got the juice. He must not be allowed to circulate the KoolAid without our busting him.

The first thing we should do...as if it's not already gone...is seal the borders. I bet Iran would be glad to help..if we asked them nice.

I don't think the goal will be to get Saddam. The goal is to overthrow him. I think once the ground troops go into Baghdad, the weasel rat will hide in his own personal sewer system (underground bunkers) and probably leave the country. I don't believe he will be able to survive as the leader with our military presence there.

Since we've given the Iraqis about 3 months to move their chems, what if the inspectors find NOTHING? What then? Back to life as usual? I think this administration is in a real quagmire now.

Maybe now the peace-at-all-costs crowd will shut up for a while.

Send over 10,000 inspectors and demand that they also immediately comply with the other dozen or so demands Bush made.

They do the Iraqi Pokey and the Bombs are never found
