WINNIPEG -- A women who nearly froze to death outside her home after a night of drinking is suing the city, emergency personnel and the taxi driver who dropped her off.
Kim Simon has undergone several skin grafts, has lost one finger and has severe nerve damage in her right leg after spending seven hours in the cold last January, said her lawyer Samuel Wilder.
Wilder said emergency personnel and the taxi driver should have made sure Simon was safely inside her house before leaving.
Simon was 33 years old at the time.
The stay-at-home mother of two, who holds a degree in sociology and law enforcement, was out with friends when she had several beers and passed out in the cab on the way home.
'SHE WAS PERPLEXED'
At the time, Wes Shoemaker, chief of the city's fire and paramedic services, said six emergency personnel were called to the home by the cab driver.
"She came out of the cab with them and she was perplexed why they were there," Shoemaker said. "She didn't want their services."
Simon's father, Bill Unger, said his daughter was found with her pants pulled down and the skin on her legs was exposed right down to her ankles.
Her winter jacket was open, her keys were clenched in her left hand and she had a cut on her lip.
The defendants have 20 days to file a defence.

To *have* and to *hold*:
"who holds a degree in sociology and law enforcement, was out with friends when she had several beers"
Better if she *had* a degree in sociology and law enforcement, was out with friends and she could *hold* her several beers

The stay-at-home mother of two,...Is there a Mr. "stay at home mother"? If so where was he? What does she do for a living except "stay at home" (except when out drinking)? Where were the kids during this drunken binge?

"...six emergency personnel were called to the home by the cab driver... she was perplexed why they were there..."She was perplexed as to why they were in her toliet, she waited for them to leave, dropped her pants, peed, flushed the bush, fell over and went back to "sleep."

AMEN ! Nowadays, it's always somebody else's fault -- I'm a victim (of my own stupidity), but maybe I can get a little "pity" cash if I find the right jury. My bet is that she was abusive to the emergency personel (probably told them to leave her the "f" alone and get the "h" out of her face) and they drove off, just like she told 'em to. She may have even told them she wasn't going to open her door until they left. I've seen enough drunks and druggies on "Cops" to know how irrational and violent people act under these circumstances.

Obviously, she was not a "stay at home mother of two," since she was out drinking with friends!!

suing ... the taxi driver who dropped her offWho dropped her off? According to the rest of the article, she "passed out in the cab on the way home," "six emergency personnel were called to the home [or to the address outside of which the cab was parked] by the cab driver" and then she "came out of the cab with them."
Considering the state of her clothing, I wonder about the condition of the backseat of that cab.

The stay-at-home mother of twoShe should've stayed at home that night, too.

Sounds like it was too cold for beer that night for this Canadian lovely.
Why do I get the feeling she was/is on welfare, or is some how connected with Womens Not Real Education courses at the local college/university.
Also, her husband if she has one, has been out of the picture for a long time.
It is too bad that the left wingers have set up safety nets to prevent Darwin from eliminating trash like this from the human genome pool. This POS is from the very shallow and scummy end of the human genome pool!
