The Democrats still blame Iran for costing Jimmy Carter his reelection. They have no beef with Iraq.

Nope, the leaders and people in Iran might not like Hussein, but they and everyone else in the middle-east and Muslim world will see it as a attack of one culture and religion (the west's) of another (theirs).

It's more likely that Hussein's neighbors would welcome his removal, since they live under the shadow of his threat of chemical/biological/nuclear attack, and has shown himself to be totally irrational and wicked.

Maybe the President dosen't want some mushroom cloud engulfing your children. But if the safety of your own children dosen't alarm you, I can be thankfull that you aren't making decisions that would jeopardize my children.

Oh,NOW I get it. It's "fore the chil-run!"

I find it interesting that you know so much more about IRAq's intentions with WMD than the nuclear scientest that was in charge of it before getting out of Iraq in 1994.

Really? And what did Miss Cleo tell him and you are Saddam's intentions to attack the US with them, and be turned into a crispy-critter as a result?

Go have a drink with Scott Ritter and maybe he'll put you in the "Iraq is a Good Guy" movie.

Ok,cretin, where have I ever said "Saddam Hussein is a good guy"? BTW,you DO know that nations aren't "guys",right?

By the way, do you still believe that the religious nutcases are incharge in Iraq.

As I stated in a earlier post, that was a typo. I obviously intended to type "Iran".

That sort of tips off your geo-political clumsiness.

No,it is a tip-off that you are too stupid to see a obvious typo.

My pops spent ten in Marine Corps SpecFor and I spent two...

No,you didn't. The USMC doesn't have Special Forces. They don't even have "Special Operations Forces".

Frankly, we should blast Iran off this planet before taking out Iraq,

This doesn't matter. Mid-term elections are coming up,and Bubba-2 doesn't have months to demonize Iran to the point where everybody is prepared to accept them as our mortal enemy without question. Iraq is "easy",so Iraq it will be.

Apology accepted.

My apology is only good if you explain your intent with that post directed to me. You obviously think you are witty, but you are only half-right.

I'm in 100% agreement that this would be their private opinion, but you can count on them to wail and pull their hair out in public, over "this unprovoked attack on Islam by the godless infidels of the west". This is how they keep their people fired-up,and ready to man the barricades if somebody tries to take THEM out.

" On the other hand in Iran, their religious regime would survive the assasination of any single leader, thus making it a much better candidate for a full scale invasion."

That would solve the base and flyover issues, wouldn't it?

What...

You wanna get into this with me? I'll eat you for breakfast.

#1 Marine Force Recon is indeed SpecFor and # 2 So is Marine Corps FAST.

http://specwarnet.net/sf.htm

Now, once you have figured those two out...give me a call.

Putz.

How's that for your "honest discussion"?

Grow up sonny. Once you get through with trying to pat yourself on the back and trying to impress the women's auxiliary at the VFW and American Legion Posts, you might realize that we've heard all that 'wannabe' rhetoric before.

Yeah,you've really got me scared,you macho-man,you!

#1 Marine Force Recon is indeed SpecFor and # 2 So is Marine Corps FAST.

Only in your delusional dreams. They are both conventional units. Don't believe me,ask the USMC themselves. They are JUST NOW developing a Special Operations unit.

BTW,the ONLY people in "Special Forces" are soldiers in the US Army. Then again, what with your extensive background in "SpecFor",I'm sure you already know that.

http://specwarnet.net/sf.htm

I'll check out your link, but since even the USMC doesn't claim they have Special Forces OR Special Operations Forces, you are going to have to pardon me if I take any claims they do with a grain of salt.

Now, once you have figured those two out...give me a call.

You are the one who needs to do the figuring.

How's that for your "honest discussion"?

I like honest discussion just fine.

http://specwarnet.net/sf.htm

Guess what? I went to the web page you gave, and even THERE the USMC isn't listed as being a "Special Forces" or even a "Special Operations" unit. Yeah, there is a clickable link there that lists them as part of the US Special Forces, but even this is wrong. The ONLY Special Forces in the US Military are the guys in the US Army Special Forces, and they wear Green Berets. Even beyond that your claim is proven wrong there, because when you click on the link to the Joint Special Operations Command (NOT the same thing as SF),you don't see ANY USMC units listed there.

BTW,this IS changing even as I type these words. The USMC is forming a Special OPERATIONS unit in order to get a piece of the "Special Operations" pie. Most of the guys in this unit will be the young Turks in Force Recon, and the officers and NCO's will be the older guys who come from the regular USMC divisions, but have a Force Recon or MI background.

Oi...semantics...

Forgive me Pops. They didnt jump on D-day so they must not be special forces huh? LOL

Anyway...

They are most definitely Special Forces. BTW: Dont mislead anyone about the link.

Dont hate on'em just cause their members and founders werent around during Vietnam [Force Recon & Sniper exception]...change old man...get used to it...or get rolled over by it.

BTW: If I am not mistaken....the majority of Marine MEU's are already designated as Special Operations Capable.

That is the SOC in MEU/SOC.
