The woman may be telling the truth. Or maybe not...the facts are though that now it appears that the police were never told by the three men that they were joking. I think it is wrong that the police came out and said that the men said they were joking. When it now appears that never happened. Talk about ruining someones reputation...and like they are going to have a chance to prove themselves innocent. Look at what people are already saying. What if they are innocent? Does it matter anymore...I doubt it. it is kinda scary how easy it is to ruin some of these peoples lives. They are Americans afterall? Correct...that was my understanding.

They're not "innocent."

This woman, eating dinner with her kid, overhears a conversation. A turban-wearing Arab doesn't like getting the evil eye, so he and his pack make some statements about 9/11 (the kid, after all, is a witness).

They blow through a turnpike turnstile, get sniffed by dogs, are uncooperative with law enforcement (a bad move), and now want us to believe THEIR story?

Sorry. They are unsympathetic figures, citizens or not. They'll be dogged, but somehow I just can't muster a tear for them.

Did it ever occur to you that explosives may have been in that car at one time and transferred to someone else??

Did it occur to you that they were let go so they could be followed to their contacts??

This is just as plausible as your concern for these poor american/muslim idiots who would make a joke of our country.

They are going to make very compassionate doctors. You should look them up if you are ever in need of really good medical care from jokesters.

I do not know about you, but I would not give the police a hard time if I were in their situation. If I had nothing to hide I would assist the police in order to resolve the matter as soon as possible. Now you might say well you are just using the old ‘nothing to hide’ excuse, and after all we do not have to assist the police. Correct, but if there are any police on Free Republic, I would like to hear their opinion of the situation. Police after dealing with all types of people develop a sixth sense for who’s telling the truth.

We don't know the facts yet.

I guess Mrs. Stone's son will be testifying about what he heard, too. It won't just be the word of one woman against three men. There are two witnesses to what the men were saying.

The men should have stuck with the "Just-joking" story, because now, when Eunice and her son testify about what they heard, the young men will have to think up yet another excuse.

They are going to run out of excuses eventually.
