NAPLES, Florida (CNN) --The Georgia woman who prompted Friday's terror scare was "flat-out lying" when she told authorities she overheard three Muslim men at a restaurant laughing about September 11 and making suspicious comments, one of the men said late Friday.

I guess that will get the full story as the week transpires.[and if they where just joking, then they got what they deserved] In that case they will have dserved everything they got and I will be the first to admit I was wrong.
If it turns out that the were not joking, will other posters admit it, or will they claim the case was somehow fixed?

"he did note it was unusual to get "pulled over by 700 cops." ROTFL!!!

These people go free cause it was a "joke"?
Wasn't sending powdered sugar and claiming it was anthrax a "joke" a few months ago?
Aren't they prosecuting people over the Anthrax hoaxes? Oh, I tink they are!!!
If these terrorists, cause that's what they are, get off, it will be a MASSIVE miscarriage of justice. Write Ashcroft. Write the AG of Florida. If all else fails, secede.
If I were to try this type of "joke", my white butt would be in prison faster than you could say "double standard"!

I'm having a hard time believing that conversation really happened How did Eunice Stone know they were going to Miami?
If, after seeing and hearing this woman, you think she's making up a story, you'd likely not believe your own mother.

Good point.
We cannot allow a fear of being labeled "racist" to keep citizens from being aware of their surroundings. We can't allow that fear to keep us from the realm of reality. While much of the country has gone back to sleep, there are still some people who will not be sheep.

She might have heard them saying they were going to Miami to look for an apartment.
Then she added her own salt-and-pepper embellishment

The only thing OJ didn't do was make quality Hertz commercials and I think Libertarians are silly and way too dramtice for my tastes. I made a simple bet. You keep trying to make it into a confrontation. I may be wrong, I have been wrong many times before. By the way, I don't think I'm superior to anyone. I just have my viewpoint and you yours. I actually enjoy reading most of your thoughtful and incisive posts. Peace.

I don't know.

Governor Bush is calling for them to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Gheith, a Palestinian born in Jordan, is a naturalized U.S. citizen who now lives in Chicago, Illinois. This is another perfect examply of why we need serious immigration reform. Why are we granting citizenship to Palestinians? We know the great majority of them hate America. I believe these guys did make the terrorist threats and now they are calling the lady a liar. You can just tell by reading their comments that they are a bunch of arrogant bastards. They guys should be charged.

Then she added her own salt-and-pepper embellishment To what end?
In a court of law, you'd lose, because you can't establish a believeable motive.
As to the three men, well, let's just say a jury might turn a jaundiced eye.

I don't know. Well then, I'd think you'd need a little more foundation to echo one of the men's comments that she added her own "salt-and-pepper embellishments" to her report.

""What happened to the stolen-license plate story leaked to the media by "Law Enforcement Sources"?" The above quote was made by you and I did emphasize that the police were NOT lying..and I explained why.
No you are wrong. I qouted that line in post #117 from another poster in post #112.
Take a little time to actually read the posts will you, before you start with the accusations.

"His name is Ayman (Amen?)
Sounds kinda Christian to me!"
Actually that name could go either way, but that was a clever observation :-)

I'd like an explanation about why saying the police were NOT lying is making an accusation??

I'm sorry if I'm coming off as " confrontational ". I just am having a very difficult time trying to understand why you you think that Eunice is lying and that the Muslim guys didn't say something volatile.
yes, we are both allowed to have our own opinions ; I've given you many logical reasons why I have mine, you just said that you are " open minded " and that you know of " false arrests ", to back up yours. I was looking for more.
Okay, end of hassle. :-)

"Man in terror scare says woman is flat out lying"
This is an easy problem to resolve. Give all of them lie detector tests. If I was that lady I'd go down to the police station right now and take one, just to prove my point. These dirt bags & the 'RAT party are going to try & use this to beat up on the American people about the poor moooselims & shouldn't we just forget 9/11. This is what they want, us to forget 9/11.

The part of the conversation that Stone missed:"We should make sure we're there by eleven a.m. I have to be somewhere at one o'clock."
"Well, I hope Stan buys us lunch. He can afford to feed four guys, can't he? It's the least he can do; we're moving that piano down four floors, for Allah's sake."
Then Stone hears one of the men ask "Do you think we have enough to bring it down?" Another one of the men replied, "If we don't have enough to bring it down, I have contacts and we can get enough to bring it down."
