I am an RN in a northeast hospital in NJ and we just got out fresh batch of first year residents. Of 8 of them, 6 are of middle eastern dissent. The other 2 are Americans. This is quite sad, IMO. Where are all the future American docs?

WHAT BULLSHIT!  She may have been somewhat mistaken or sucked into a dumb joke or hoax but no way is she flat out lying. He's the idiot and flat out liar. No one will buy his story that he and his buddies are 100% in the right.

There would be no egg on their face in your scenario. They did the right thing, considering what was reported to them and considering what has happened in this country in the last year. There would be no egg on their faces if they stopped the men, checked them out, and found no evidence of anything. That's basically what happened. They followed up on a report. How on earth does that make them look even a little bit bad? They would be irresponsible to do anything less than they did.

The future docs are hearing stories of how bad it is to be in health care in the year 2002. The risk outweighs the reward for many. Med school enrollment is down in the US and so they are taking the foreign students to make up for it.

I know that appearances can be deceiving.

For example, I have a German last name, and most people assume that I'm Jewish. Therefore, I have had heard many nasty comments about me for "being Jewish" even though I'm a Christian.

Why did trained dogs pick up explosive scents?

Stop with the dogs already! Sink, you're too wise for that. Even I can tell that the dogs are purely a prop - None!

How many times in just the last week have we heard that dogs indicated the prosence of explosives and then nothing was found? At least twice. There was the case on Wednesday where the dog indicated there were explosives in a laptop and inside a box of a person detained on a flight. That was BS. Cops blow up the box and it had nothing in it. Fortunatly for the poor guy detained, he was able to convince the cops to not blow up his laptop just on the dogs say-so. They took it apart and put it back together - no explosives.

The dogs are a sham - just an excuse to get a search warrant.

I don't give a wit about the Danish. And if ZI thought I overheard these men talking about bombing something, I would turn them in in a heartbeat. And, again, if they were joking even a little bit, they deserve everything they got and more.

You are trying to make more out of my comments than is there. Today, on all of the news channels you were told:

1. They plates were stolen - It turned out to be false. 2. The dogs picked up on explosives - No explosives. 3. The men were joking - Why are you so willing to beleive the last one when the rest of the story wasn't true?

I'm not trying to explain things away. I will just wait to the whole story is told.
