Zarelli pushes for Congress to support the President on Iraq

This morning President George W. Bush addressed the United Nations General Assembly and stressed the inherent danger that the world faces from Saddam Hussein. The President called for a regime change in Iraq, in order to insure the future peace throughout the world. The President’s remarks laid out specific examples of how Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has systematically and continually violated 16 United Nations Security Council resolutions over the past decade, beginning on November 29, 1990 to the present.

As the President stated, if the world would have appeased Saddam with his invasion of Kuwait in 1990, it is evident that he would not have stopped there. Saddam has shown the desire and the means to disrupt peace in the Middle East and throughout the world. We must act now to ensure that Saddam Hussein does not become an even greater threat to world peace. President Bush emphasized that our disagreement is not with the people of Iraq but with Saddam himself. He must be removed from office to bring democracy and peace to the Iraqi citizens.

Furthermore, there has been evidence that members of the Al Qaida terrorist network have made their way to Iraq in order to remobilize and plan their next terrorist attack against the Western governments of the world. While a general consensus and cooperation from our allies throughout the world is preferred, the President and Congress have a duty to the citizens of this country to act in order to prevent future terrorist action.

Therefore, today Senator Joe Zarelli commended the President urged Representative Brian Baird and the rest of the Congressional delegation to support President Bush by giving him the authority to do what ever is necessary to remove Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq and defend this country from future terrorist aggression.

I do not think so, he is a professional campaign man. Very busy and all. Worked on the John Ashcroft bid I think. He does lurk, I am hoping he will join.

Kevin Carns, Zarelli's political director is I think. I know he at least lurks as well.

I work on the campaigns computer systems and been involved in the campaign and I have seen how hard these guys work, very little time.

Though I think these types could get a real feel for the position and mood of the base if they checked out the site often.

I am really hoping to see the kind of support and information spread FR can give.

The more folks we get elected the more clout we will have as a group. (I want to send Baird back to the private sector formost though)

Please do!!! I don't ever want to hear again the simpering sickly-sweet Brian Baird ads I heard last time on KVI. After a while it reached the point that when I heard one start the radio would go off for the rest of the commute -- even if it was during talk-show host Kirby Wilbur or John Carlson's program.
