Segway scooter done So all the people who had preordered a Segway from Amazon just received a note from Amazon saying, "We've recently learned from our supplier that the item you requested to be notified about, Segway Human Transporter (also known as "Ginger" or "IT"), will not be available in the foreseeable future" and then recommends that shoppers look for the item on Amazon's used and auction sites. Ha ha I got to ride one and you won't! blah When: 9/12/2002
Company: Segway
Severity: 100 - new hall of fame inductee!

I hear ya. But look at that "Think" I just posted a picture of. The one on the right looks nice.

The Segway is the biggest piece of cr*p - it's a useless $3000 toy being marketed by lies about how wonderful and innovative and city-altering this junkpile is. What a load of bullcr*p.

Paint the one on the left purple and market it as "The Grape."
I dunno, that "Think" looks like it could get lost under the couch too easily.
Personally I'm a Pathfinder kinda guy, but to each his own. Mileage would probably be pretty good. I used to have a soft spot for the SNL "Adobe", made in Mexico with moldable bumpers for easy repairs(just add water).

I would like to have one of those things. You see, I'm 80, lost a leg, have defibrillator and pacemaker implants, poor circulation and damaged lungs. My head works OK... I just need a way to get my head from one place to another. I was looking forward to the possibility of owning one of those great gadgets.

Segway Human Transporter (also known as "Ginger" or "IT")That's the problem. Ginger was a bimbo.

The story apparently is a mixup, and production of the Segway is continuing.

For the price of a car, you can have a Segway. Not the best marketing pitch.

We have a Mountaineer, but I don't object to using a small vehicle in town. My wife uses the Mountaineer as I think it's a very safe vehicle.

Muttly need sidecar for ammunition.
Also to give Ginger a ride.

How long until the first Broward County snowbirds are plastered in their 'two-seater' by Miss Daisy's maurading Cadillac? Cha-ching.
I was anticipating the day when I would see one of the things alongside the street with various parts stolen off of it (like the bicycle frame currently locked to a parking meter in front of my office building - picked clean of every detachable part). Darn.

Not to mention that some publishing company has already paid close to $300,000 for the story behind IT.
And to think this thing has the backing of Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates.

I read in Investor's Business Daily that Ford is discontinuing all of there "Think" products. I thought they were so promissing. I confirmed that they are gone at Galpin Ford yesterday when I was over there. The salesman were in shock that they were not even given a chance!
